[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well I rushed my husband yesterday to pick this Royal Oak firestarters up, when I opened the bag and saw how small the box of these was-thought it was a lot bigger in Walmart photo. My hopes of this being able to work was skeptical. So I started putting the coals on one and wow....I was impressed how fast it lit the coals. We tried so many options, an electric starter for years, then a chimney thing where you load coal and paper. Boy I was pleasantly surprised, this was cleaner faster than all prior grilling methods! No more newsprint all over, just load the fire starter and coal on top leave room for your long nose metal match clicker... and watch it work! Impressive, I'd buy them again. Wish you could use it in the fireplace-but you cannot. Only outdoor use!

I kindof like the rustic-ness of it also. 16 will go a long way as most people will probably only need one to light their fires. All in all a great product!

Great Little Fire Starter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am used to a 10-15 minute preparation time for charcoal grills. It's typically just how it works. These are a game changer. You set them up amongst the charcoal, douse the charcoal in lighter fluid, and light it up. The random Royal Oak Natural Wood Tumbleweeds All Natural Fire Starters will ignite and evenly heat up the coals to a glowing red perfect cooking temp. My steaks were cooked so perfectly, you'd have sworn they were cooked in an oven. Nice sear on the bottom and top. Definitely recommend if you love charcoal as much as I do!

Helpful little things

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We camp a lot during the summer and so fires in our fire pit in the backyard through the year. They instantly caught on fire when we put the flame to it. Because it is made from wood shavings, you don't get fly away like other paper starters. It stays lit for awhile, giving your smallest wood a chance to catch fire and then spread to the larger logs. I will definitely keep this at my house and I'm my camping supplies.

Quick Fire Start!

I didn't have any issues at all and the fire took off right away and stayed going. I am very impressed with these and will continue to use them for all of our campfires.

Wonderful fire starters!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a basic charcoal barbecue with a lid and have used various methods over the years to get the charcoal started. I found this box of Royal Oak fire starters near the charcoal at Walmart and wondered how these small bundles could get the charcoal ready to grill our first hamburgers this spring.

I read all the directions carefully before beginning the fire but it is a very straightforward and easy process. I put about half of our 2-1/2 pounds of charcoal in the bottom of the barbecue then put one fire starter in the middle of that layer. I proceeded to make a small pyramid with the rest of the charcoal, leaving an end of the fire starter exposed in order to light it.

I lit the starter with a match and it immediately flamed up and started to heat the charcoal. As usual with charcoal, the fire smoked and flamed intermittently for the next 30 minutes until the fire was ready. We grilled our burgers and marveled at the easiest way we have ever started the charcoal. The box has 16 pieces so should easily get us through the spring and summer barbecue season.

Easy way to start your charcoal for a BBQ

SO many times we have tried to light our fire pit or charcoal and we sit there with matches, torches ect and it never stays lit. Not anymore! With Royal Oak Natural Wood Tumbleweeds All Natural Fire Starters, this now works the first time. I recommend this product to everyone that has a wood fireplace wood firepit or charcoal BBQ to get this product. The nice thing is you get 16 of these for a great price. You can find them in the garden section of walmart with the other BBQ chips, charcoal ect. This has made using our firepit so much more enjoyable since we are not spending half the time trying to light it. Try it today, you will love it!!

This is such a great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a beginner at cooking BBQ, always loved the food but as a single mom I just didn't know where to start. Thankfully I was given the opportunity to review these to help me and I have to say they indeed worked. I found that burying 2-3 in the charcoal and lighting the little wicks as they stick out helps start an even fire. You get 16 in the box so that will last you a good handful of cooking BBQ and they stay lit too once they have been set on fire. I learned this on a windy day and I was impressed. Overall I am pleased and will continue to purchase to make things easier for this amateur.

Works just as it's intended for
