I work retail and purchased one of these after one of my new co-workers accepted a counterfeit $100 bill. He used a counterfeit pen and it amazingly passed the ink test - counterfeiters are getting better with their craft but the paper didnt feel right to the touch. I tested this new gadget on some real currency and you can see clearly the colored security thread . I also tested it on a fake bill and no security thread was evident. My boss was thrilled and she had me order 7 more for the rest of the employees. This gadget is small and fits easily in our cash registers.

Very good machine. It fits in a small place. It's easy to use. Good price. We are a small bar/restaurant, and it suits us well.

Practical and Small

The package came on time and as soon I opened it, I tested it. This is much better than using the counterfeit pen because scammers nowadays are getting smarter but they still cannot mess up with the security strip. This detector is perfect for liquor stores or you can have it in your purse when you go shopping because you can never tell if the cashier gave you a real change or a fake one.

Perfect

Doesn't really "detect" counterfeits bills. It simply shows you where the denomination band is laminated on each bill, and shines a light on it. You could look up the locations on the web and shine a small flashlight on the bills. Lol
