I have been using Rub 'n Buff for over 50 years, yes 50 years.  I started using in the fifties to transform old picture frames and other random items bought at yard sales, thrift stores, etc.  I have used on old metal lamps, etc.  A tube will go a long way.  Can't say enough good things

You don't have to have lots of experience with artists paints to use this product.  Put a little on a soft cloth and rub it on. A little goes a long way so rub until you get the coverage  you want. Directed to the product by an art supply store owner I first used the gold colors to successfully revive a rusting tin sun.  I used the ebony and gold on a second-hand thrift shop mirror frame to cover nicks and scrapes just enough to leave the original old world finish.  I removed a slight mistake with some rubbing alcohol. (There may be a better way.)  Very nice product to have on hand and it seems to stay  fresh in the tube for a long time.

Great Results

I've bought rub n buff in gold color before and decided to buy black to cover some screws that don't match. I already have them installed so I can't spray paint them, thought I'd gift this a try. Honestly it looks better if you spray paint screws but at the time I didn't have that option. I think I can get this to work but will take time and patience
