Containers come in various sizes suitable for different uses.

We are replacing all of our plastic food storage containers with glass containers. We've had these about a month and they are holding up well, but I do wish the lids were stackable. I am also very frustrated that Rubbermaid does not sell these as individual pieces. I need more of the 1.3 cup containers and refuse to buy another mixed set just to get 2 of the 1.3 cup containers. Why is it that the plastic Brilliance line has 1.3 cup containers sold separately, but not the glass? This is a massive missed sales opportunity for Rubbermaid.

About a year ago, we replaced our entire Tupperware set with these Rubbermaid Brilliance storage containers. For the first six months we were thrilled with them— singing their praises to everyone who would listen. They stack very well, the lids are interchangeable with different sizes of containers, there are glass and plastic options, there are many great sizes. We use them all the time. About six months after we bought them, though, we started noticing cracks in the lids. And not just one of the lids— it started happening to essentially all of them. No big deal, we thought, we'll just buy some replacement lids. Easy, right? Well, it turns out they don't make replacement lids, which is hard to fathom. If they did this would be a five star review. I'm just posting in the hopes that enough people comment that Rubbermaid will start making replacements available because otherwise these containers are great.  A cheer s it is, we're looking to replace the whole lot again with a different brand. And we're warning everyone who will listen, too.

If only there were replacement lids!

We bought a few sets of these to replace the plastic ones we had been using for years. We loved these, at first. Several of the lids have cracked, definitely to to kids and MIL's not know how to open them. I figured I would just buy replacement lids. NOPE. They don't sell them, I can't even find 3rd party versions. What a huge disappointment and a huge miss on the part of Rubbermaid. Once my kids are all cracked, I will buy a different brand. Shane on you Rubbermaid.

Lids crack/break and NO OPTION TO REPLACE

In 2023, I replaced all of my food storage with these containers. For food in the fridge or freezer, it was glass bottoms with Tritan tops. For the pantry, those sizes and shapes are only available in Tritan.

For the first year, things were great. The lids sealed properly, the glass held up to freezer and oven, and both the lids and the glass bottoms survived trips through the microwave and dishwasher.

Then, I got my first crack...the lid for one of my big containers, the big 8 cup one, developed a hairline starburst from the center outward, while storing a casserole in the freezer. Nothing strange was stored above it, and the food was cool before I put the lid on, so I'm not sure what the problem was. Not happy, but I let it go, since only one lid was broken.

Now, I have a total of 3 lids broken. Two for the 8 cup big containers, and one for a 4 cup container. With Rubbermaid not selling replacement lids, I now have 3 glass bottoms without lids, and need to acquire replacement food storage containers for those three items.

With only 3 damaged lids, I don't think this is a knowlesge or technique problem on my end. Granted, we are only talking about three damaged lids over about three years; however, what I expected from the glass set was that I would be able to use them for many years to come, not have to replace entire container + lid items due to the lids breaking.

Lids break. It happens. Just allow us to buy replacement lids, without having to buy an entire extra container!

Like them, but lids break & aren't sold separately

I bought a set of these a few years back and LOVED them, only had 2 that cracked badly enough to have to throw out after 3 years so I bought a second set... Within the first 3 months all four had cracks. Two of them actually broke while washing them (BY HAND...WITH A SPNGE). Quite disappointed.

I started out loving these then I got a 2nd set...

Pro:  Glass is sturdy.  Absolutely love the rectangular shape for storage and stacking.
Con:  Lids crack; Rubbermaid doesn't have replacement lids for sale.  Rubbermaid also doesn't offer other options to buy pieces separately.  I absolutely would love to be able to just buy the 2 cup containers but there's no option for that at all.

Areas that needs improving.

Great glass container, but terrible lids!  The lids broke pretty quickly and I tried to find spare lids for the great glass bottoms.  But NO!  You have to buy another complete set to get new lids!  Wasteful!  I wish I knew this before I bought them.

Great Glass Bottoms but Terrible Lids!

I use these containers on a daily basis.  I was apprehensive about the plastic lids when I first got the containers and needless to say they didn't disappoint in disappointing me. The lid has cracked right where you need to push to put it on the container. And, as I see in these reviews, I am not the only one who thinks it's DUMB that Rubbermaid does not have replacement lids for these containers.  Until the quality goes up to keep the lids from breaking, replacements are a must. Get on the ball Rubbermaid.

No Replacement lids

I love using the glass containers, but the lid on the large rectangle has cracked and I cannot get a replacement lid.  Why are replacement lids not sold?  Now I just have a glass dish and will be using saran wrap.

The glass container is great but the lids crack easily due to the excellent airtight lid sea and now I see I can't replace the lids. Ugh! Then why buy something that will break and unable to replace leaving the container unusable or just a regular glass rectangle dish with saranwrap. poor design or poor on Rubbermaid for not making replacement lids. So many would buy the replacement lids for these glass storage containers
