I didn't quite read the description when I was ordering these and they came in a lot larger size than I expected, but that was perfect for storing leftover soup that I had made in a giant 5 quart pot the seals very well and it didn't spill even when slashed around in the car as I was taking it to my sons house.

These are nice and big. I need these for my left over soups and other large quantity meals I make like Rice. They keep food fresh in the fridge and they're strong and sturdy. They're not flimsy. They last a long time. They look good in the fridge They're easy to clean.

Strong and sturdy I love using these

Gone are the days of Tupperware, I mean who can afford them today, if you can find them.  Rubbermaid makes reliable products that you can afford.  These containers are no exception.  I appreciate the price, the new sizes that they offer and ease of going from frig to microwave. I recently replaced all  my old plastic containers and  purchased almost the whole set of Rubbermaid, red top containers, at Walmart.

Great value, easy use!

My test for food storage items:  Seal well, freeze well, release odors and tomato sauce when cleaned, and do people try to steal them at parties and holidays?
Rubbermaid containers check all the boxes- a tiny amount of bleach is sometimes needed fot tomato stains and strong food odors, and the seal stays strong for years.
I do not run these containers through the microwave or dishwasher, but for fridge, freezer and hand washing, they are perfect and perfectly priced.

People try to steal them at parties

I'll start with this. the only negative is that they are a bit pricy besides that, I'd give their lids abilities to snap down and stay put seriously tight. It's hard to snap shut, but once on the lid is tightly on. I'd definitely recommend just the price as a while is high, in my opinion. It's a plastic molded item. It's not that hard to make.

****Solid lid locking****

it's a great product. does the job as advertised and beyond. dry goods, wet goods, food, non food storage. they come nearly ready to use. just a quick rinse and wipe and they're ready. no bad smell, always quality from this brand. nice color on the lids. nice and clear bowl. solid sturdy bowl, delivered in perfect condition.

It is a decent product for lots of leftovers or for a big salad.  They tend to begin to start looking bad if you use them to cook in the microwave wave after a few months.  I have quite a few sizes from this manufacturer.  They lids hold pretty well too.

These were actually 4 containers with 4 lids. They were 5 cup capacity which was perfect for putting my leftover chop suey in. I thought they were freezer friendly but I am not sure if they are, cause I did not see anything about it on the packaging. They seem to be heavy enough to freeze food without a problem. They are better than the flimsy brands and not much more expensive really.  The design is perfect for soups, chili,  salads, or what ever you need to store . Definitely great quality container for great price!!!

I said "Yes" to the question, "Would I recommend this item?" but with a cautionary notation: Some of the lids were difficult to seal at all four corners, i.e., three would snap shut but in trying to seal the final corner, one of the previously sealed corners would come undone. One recipient of the Christmas cookies I gave away in these containers asked me how I managed to get the top securely sealed, and I told her after sealing three corners, I leaned on top of it with my body, elbow and other hand, holding the first three tightly shut and then forcefully made the fourth seal. I thought the red tops were festive for the season and once completely sealed, they kept the cookies fresh. I purchased four packs of these containers, and believe about three had trouble being closed, but I still used them.

MOSTLY PLEASED, BUT 3 WERE DIFFICULT TO SEAL

I would recommend this product only to someone who has a tight budget. Getting the lids to close on this thing is evil. If someone wanted to curse someone with frustration they could have them forced to close the lids on this product 100 times. It might lead to madness.

With that said these are extremely cheap. It's great that you can stick them in the microwave (as long as you remove the lid first). It's also great that they're safe for the deep freezer.

Still I think it's reasonable to expect a product to have an ease of use where simply closing it doesn't take substantial effort and frustration to achieve.

Final verdict: It's great to buy if you're poor. If you have the spare money- buy something better.

It's great, if you can't afford better…

II received these on time and well packaged, thus the 2 stars. I needed them for the holidays, and didn't open them till needed. Unfortunately, the covers don't fit them, rendering them useless to me. I returned them.
