Did the undercoating Job on my 2020 Toyota Corolla very well. Ordered 6 of these and still have two left that will be used to cover patches on my other car

Fast shipping and great product

I used this on my truck, just remove the flakey metal/rust and then spray. Wear safety glasses and gloves, I also recommend wearing a hood because this stuff drips. Good luck.

I've been a loyal Rust Check customer for years and have had great results with their red and green bottles. They've always been easy to apply and effective, though they tend to wash off quickly in winter. Hoping for something more durable, I purchased the Rust Check Black Undercoat, expecting it to perform like lanolin-based products such as Fluid Film.

, my experience was very different. The product was extremely sticky and left deep stains on my car paint and ski jacket—both of which I've been unable to clean easily until i used freezer and alcohol and goo gone and dye even after hours of effort and over $80 spent on degreasers and car washes. I later learned that this undercoat hardens in cold weather and may trap moisture, which could actually accelerate rust rather than prevent it.

In trying to remove it from my steel rims, I ended up stripping the original paint down to bare metal. I wish the bottle had clearer warnings about how permanent and staining this product is. If you're looking for a rust protector that's removable or safe for painted surfaces, this isn't it.

I still trust Rust Check overall, but I hope they consider offering a lanolin-based alternative that's easier to clean and safer for multi-surface use. I just buy fluid film now from Canadian tire or princess auto. It is transparent washable and more liquid than chips and pieces like this one.
