This unit works very well.  I had a situation where Toslink was going through too many feed-throughs.  The optical reflection back and forth at each interface caused the signal to be corrupted, and lost.  Going coax through the feed-throughs solved the problem.

Great price, works for converting audio for older AV receiver (make sure you get both pieces for conversion).  I didn't want to shell out $400-800 for a new AV receiver, this will give you the audio out from your TV to the receiver.

Tv has audio optical output but audio system had only audio coax input.  This did the conversion as desired.

It works. For the money it does the job. One of the inputs on my receiver with SPIF digital input as well as optical input went out Probably overtime using the receiver, the circuit went bad from over usage.

I was able to use the Digital coaxial on another input and it worked fined.  Was able to process 5.1 DTS and Dolby digital as well. Save me from buying another receiver.  Quality built doesn't look good, but for the money it works.

I bought one of these years ago and it failed so I tossed it in my parts bucket.

I recently opened it to see what went wrong and it is one of the lowest quality electronic boards I have seen in years.  It looks like something from the 1970s.

Hopefully the board quality has improved from when this was originally introduced.

It works but isn't well made

The connectors are very particular with which kind of cables used. Your customer service person was excellent.

Worth the price

This converter is cheap, it works ok, it is not good enough to use in a high quality hifi, but it is ok for some uses.

Ok for the $$$

Didn't work for me.  The electrical connection didn't even seem to fit the converter.
The converter seemed way cheaply built almost like it could be purchased out of a quarter machine.  Not a Walmart item.  May be a beast for me to return.

It converted the signal from 
toslink to Coaxial, but the quality of sound was poor.  I tried adjusting my receiver settings and almost bought a new receiver, thinking it had a channel burned out.  Then, I disconnected this converter and hooked the Toslink directly and it was fine.

Save your money, it works very poorly.
