This AM/FM radio meets my expectations for reception. I was impressed with how many other stations I could not receive with other devices (mp3 players, AM/FM radios, etc.).

This radio has a bar indicator showing the quality of reception as well as an indicator showing how much battery life is left.

The double bass adds much quality to the music. Depending on the headphones you use (the headphones with this device have an antenae but I prefer the in ear buds) will determine the quality of want to hear. I found no difference in reception using my headphones; actually, I am still impressed with the reception.

All in all, it is a great device on the higher range of cost of other similar AM/FM radios. I give it a "good" value due to its high cost. It would be an "excellent" value if the cost were lower. But, still worth the price.

After of week of having this new gadget, I wouldn't trade it for any other.

I love my Sangean American.  It's a remarkably well-designed and compact radio  that goes with my dog and me where ever we walk.   My first one was trouble-free until my wife knocked it onto the floor.   She promised and did give me a new one for Father's Day.   If you like 'winners, buy this one and you will be glad you did!

A WINNER

I've only been using it for about a week, so don't really know about the battery life, but the reception is really good. I had bought another small radio from Walmart (in store), but had to return it because I couldn't pick up the stations I like to listen to. This little Sangean picked them right up. As others have stated, the ear buds are a little large and I have a hard time keeping them in my ears. Overall, it's a great little radio and I would recommend it to my friends.

Nice little pocket radio

Would recomend this item for any one who likes a small radio, with head phonesThe features are very easy to operate and understand. I love it because how compact it is. Excellent price good value for your money. Would recomend it for anyone who is interested in this type of radio. very satisfied @ this point.

Am very pleased with the quality ,sound and price

I am happy with this Sangean DT-120 radio.  It has really great reception. 

My previous radio was the Sony SRF-M37V Walkman. I prefer the Sangean. The Sangean gets better reception and has digital volume control which is much easier than the old style volume control wheel on the Sony. 

The Sangean is less than half the size of the Sony, but weighs about the same. It doesn't have the weather band like the Sony does, but I never used it anyway.

The only thing that I would call a defect is that the DT-120 doesn't have a belt clip. It really is a pocket radio, so plan on carrying it in a pocket or getting a belt pouch to carry it in like I have.

Another problem with the Sony was the door over the battery compartment. It is fragile and it ended up being broken off and lost. The Sangean has a compartment for 2 AAA batteries. the door slides to expose the batteries, but remains attached so it won't get lost.

Plan on getting different ear buds. The Sangean comes with earbuds, but they are really cheap and really lousy.

Great radio, but lousy earbuds.

The radio is as promised. The sterio sound is to die for. The stations come in with a good strong signal unlike other radios that I have tried.

I can't speak about the battery life because my original battery is still in use.

The radio would make a great gift.

The radio is great

Very pleased with this radio. Have had it about a month, able to pick up multiple AM stations with excellent reception in office building. Earphones decent quality, FM sounds great.

Great Radio

I wanted a radio to listen to when I take my walks. It is perfect!! Stations tune in well, it is light in weight, overall exactly what I was looking for.

Great little radio!

It has all the functions etc. that you need, but the transparent case makes it difficult to read what each button does. I really like it for during workouts - it perfectly fits into an old leather clip-on flip-phone case so I can clip it on my sweatpants. The earbuds that come with it are okay, but are fairly large and do not fit in my ears very well; however, during workouts I loop the wire over my ear and it seems to keep them. Don't know how long the battery lasts; haven't owned it long enough.

Radio has great reception. The headphones are big and the quality doesn't match the radio. The radio doesn't have a clip so you have to put it in a pocket or hold it in your hand.

Great reception

I had read about what great reception the Sangean gets. I bought it to be able to listen to ESPN Sports talk at work. I listen to it on the way to work and can hear it very well in my truck when I pull into park. I figured I'd be able to listen to it at my desk. No such luck. I can't get either their AM or FM feeds that are available from inside the office.

Bottom line a $5 AM/FM would be just as useful.
