I just bought this 2nd hole in hit an old hard siding shingle " maybe asbestos or like it" really hard stuff. The milwaukee fuel 18V wasnt stopping lol and when I let go this was the result...not the bits fault but a testament  to the strength  in the 1/4" shank....I will buy another to replace. Diablo owes me nothing. HELL OF A STRONG BIT NOT TO BREAK..

I posted a review ": Disappointed" last week.  A representative from Diablo reached out and offered to replace the spade bit.  I received the set in under a week and was able to use a few of the spade bits today with very good results.

Excellent Customer Support

Purchases yesterday.  Used 1 1/4 bit on Canarywood.  First used my DeWalt Cordless 18V drill and the bit locked up in the wood.  Then I tried my Craftsman Electric Drill and same result.  Then I tried the Spade Bit on Pine and it still locked up.  Ended up using another Spade Bit to drill the 26 holes.

Disappointed

You guys need to lose the screw bit.It's a disaster.You can't get the bit out halfway through a blind hole.
Most of us have used an old style paddle bit as a forstner bit when we were in it bind. You get to break out a pair of pliers and try to get it on bound out of a simple two by four.
You can't do it with these pieces of junk.

Dont know what to say in all honesty. Diablo is supposedly known for their exceptional quality and yet on the second hole (vinyl and wood subfloor) the shank broke right off the bit leaving a piece in the drill. Time lost fidgeting to get the bit out, time lost to go and replace. Be weary.

Good for 1.5 holes at which point the shank broke loose from the spade.  Don't waste your money
