Ease Of Use

Colour

Wireless Connectivity

Easy to navigate with various devices or storage options.

Can be sharp and vibrant, but may also appear dull or error-prone.

I upgraded from my Canon Ivy to the Selphy and am so grateful I did! The quality of prints, flexibility in photo size, and cost per photo is a huge improvement. While I miss the smaller size of the Ivy, the Selphy is still compact and portable.

Love this printer!

canon.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i really like the photo printer! it is simple and easy to use. it is also very helpful and efficient especially when your into arts and crafts or just like documenting things via pictures. i highly recommend buying it either for yourself or for a gift!

simple and affordable!

walmart.com

High quality color prints. However, the iphone program interface is confusing. It is very hard to crop and edit the photos before printing. Borders are cut off frequently. Plus, there are two programs available to use from canon on the app store and they do not mesh well. If canon fixed the editing interface, this would be a five star product.

Clunky iphone interface for editing

The printer itself is lovely, it prints nice and quick, and the resulting pictures look very nice. However, printing to it from a PC is an exercise in frustration - because the print drive doesn't actually seem to match the size of the 4x6 paper (or perhaps the paper isn't exactly 4x6?), you'll need to manually adjust the print margins to avoid either printing way over the edges and thus unintentionally cropping your shot, or leaving big, uneven white borders around the image. This was a pretty expensive trial and error process - it took me a good 20-25 prints to find a print configuration that I was mostly happy with - and that involved cheating and adding a black border to sorta hide the uneven margins. If the software side of this was as nice as the hardware, it'd be an easy 5-star.

Hardware great. Software... not.

I just bought this and am very disappointed in the color quality. Brand new out of the box and my first two prints are way too green, dark and off-contrasted. I even printed a picture of my fresh wildflower bouquet and the photos all look like they are practically in black and white. No issue with the inks as it is brand new and everything is full. Will most likely return. Not happy

Bad color

Canon used a generic driver that is no longer compatible with Windows 11. It only works on Mac and mobile. Cool printer and the kids love seeing every layer of color being added to their prints, but would not have bought if I had known I would not be able to connect it to a computer and print from lightroom/photoshop. Please create drivers Canon...

Is not compatible with Windows 11

I was so excited for this product to be able to print both 4x6 and 2x3 and was very disappointed to learn that to print 2x3 you need to by a different paper cassette (Requires Paper Cassette PCC-CP400) which isn't included with this printer. This paper cassette was also out of stock and I had to wait months for it to go back in stock (at the moment, it's out of stock once again). All of that to get an error message that says that the paper size is incorrect. Not to mention that the 2x3 photo paper is very hard to find and when you do find it, it is SUPER expensive.
To print 4x6, it has been a great experience but DO NOT BUY to print 2x3, it's not worth the extra money and to this day, I haven't managed to make it work.

Dissapointed

The images are a bit green in tint, so I'd have to add magenta to the photos in editing before printing and that might help. They are more vivid than the likes if a Kodak Mini Pass 2 and a Liene 2x3 printer. I thought this product would be superior since you can print 3x5's and 4x6's and make little collages as well for things like holiday cards. HOWEVER, you cannot actually find a 3x5 tray or printing paper even if you wanted to. They don't sell it in the United States. The sizing is a bit confusing on the actual printer itself. It also says "postcard" but that just means 4x6, and not actually being able to find a post card paper and print to it. It did not meet my needs in the end. Less versatile than it appears.

Mediocre color and unusable features

Bought it a few years ago and it worked great. Did not use it for a while; tried setting up again with laptop and will not connect. Have see MANY reviews with same complaint and issue is with Canon. From recent reviews "when Windows 11 was updated, it created a problem with the CP1500 and Canon has done nothing to resolve it." Not sure what the "issue" is but would like it fixed. Am VERY reluctant to try any "portable" printer from Canon.

Will not work with updated Windows 11

This printer will not work with a PC. Their advertising literature says it will. But it absolutely will not.I spent untold hours trying to get it to work. Finally one of their tech support people told me it will never work.

Not for use with a desktop computer.

SELPHY CP1500 Compact Photo Printer WHITE centered front view of a compact white dye-sublimation photo printer with top output slot and a partially ejected 4x6 print; Canon logo visible and device noted for Wi‑Fi, AirPrint and USB connectivity. Portable photo printer suitable for smartphone, memory card and USB printing and often used to make mini stickers or labels for crafts.
