Have to admit I have only used it to make sure I could thread it and the bobbin and makes stitches on material.  Have not used it to mend or actually sew anything.  I had a little trouble threading it but after a few trials and errors - got it.  It appears to do what it is intended for - light mending, very easy to tote around, has all of the bells and whistles - lighted sewing area, easy guides for different stitches, uses "regular" bobbins and Singer needles, doesn't take up much space and reasonably priced. Lastly, I bought the light blue one and it is nice.

Very inexpensive sewing machine works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Big bummer. I really liked it at first. A super simple light machine for my son to learn on. It jammed almost immediately and so badly it was unusable. We returned it.
