[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is light and portable, just right for a beginner to intermediate sewer.  It stitches fine right out of the box, and I was really checking it out as I have been sewing for over 60 years, I actually learned to sew on a Singer treadle machine!  I have one last daughter who has now shown interest in her mid thirties that does not have a sewing machine yet so I decided on this one after comparing a few.  I have a computerized model now, one heavy duty and one serger and have only had one regular machine before as I feel Singer is a brand I trust to be made well and last a long time.  Only reason my first machine had problems was because I tried to do car upholstery on it, think I ruined it.

I love this machine!  It glides smoothly. Easy to thread. Lightweight. No fussing with tension adjustments or jamming. Speed will go slow when you want it to.  It's perfect. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Do not buy! Bobbin just jams after a few seconds. I've watched numerous YouTube videos… in doing it all right but it just keeps getting stuck! 
Taking it back to Walmart for a refund tomorrow!
