I've never seen the really big deal with the "super, high-tech machines."  I have so much experience, that I do not want my sewing machine to do everything for me.....AND, the high-tech machines have a finished product that looks like a machine did the work -- I don't like that.  My old machine motor finally just burned out from years and years of use -- so I purchased the 2277, since it was most like my old one.  I love this sewing machine.   Just like coming home for me!

I've had this sewing machine for about 3 years now, and sew on a daily/weekly basis. It works great for most things, though sometimes has trouble with thicker fabrics (denim/canvas) and It's nearly impossible to sew super stretchy fabric with it, though that may be a skill issue for me personally. Also, it ALWAYS has issues with plastic bobbins, but works perfectly with the metal ones, so just make sure you have those. That being said, for the price it's FANTASTIC and it has done me very good :)

I love this easy, quiet machine, and I tried many before I found this one. It is the best, and I told my daughter to get one, too, which she did. I appreciate the metal (not plastic) parts. Only vulnerable part maybe the thread holder.

I would tell others to buy this machine.

I was so excited to get wizzing on a machine again! My Big sister surprised me with this gift. It beat my expectation and when I started sewing it was like a  whisper as it stiched away.

Just what your looking for

Super easy to use. Does everything I need and want it to do. Simple. Only complaint is the slight delay between foot pedal and needle movement, which is annoying and ends in unwanted bursts instead of gradual acceleration.

I am giving this a 4 because I haven't had a chance to really use the machine yet. I did a small project and the directions are easy to understand.  


I will say that there was a screw that had fallen out and hopefully we found the right place for it to go. The plastic is a bit lose on parts but it serves the purpose I bought it for.

I've been making masks and my machine broke. This is the same model. I usually just mend. It came with a screw in the box. The bobbin compartment fell apart. My husband fixed that. Then, needles kept bending. I took apart the bobbin thing. The ring was right but the next piece was on the left and belonged on the right. Nobody has answered my complaint.

Not put together well.

My former a Singer machine gave up the ghost - and could not be resurrected - whilst sewing masks. I wanted a simple, basic machine. Choices are slim, these days; many are taking up the call to sew. This was delivered quickly but apparently the motor was dislodged in shipping and needed fixed upon arrival. The reverse function is not - functional, that is. I feel as though I'm sewing on a toy machine. I'll seek another when choices become available but I'm seriously disappointed in Singer.

Sadly lacking

I sewed for a few minutes before the machine stop working. It looked like it was used but I wanted to trust the company. It irritated me because I wanted to continue making face mask for my local hospital.

I wouldn't buy this again

I use this product for wigs and idk if they're selling them refurbished and acting like they are new or what but these machines jam every 5 minutes of sewing . I literally took one our the box and it start jamming up and getting the thread stuck 1 hour after opening it.

Please do not buy the Singer Tradition .. it jams up so bad
