Bought my first 7 1/4 worm drive a few years back.  Didn't take long until I wanted the 10 5/16 to improve efficiency with 4x stock.  Just got the 16 5/16 and this thing is a beast.  I use these for precision cutting applications and you can really dial in the 90 with the two adjustment screws/clamps.  This is an excellent saw for serious carpenters.  

Only complaint, and it's really not that big of a deal, the plastic on the handle of the 10 5/16 was a different material and I feel it's more substantial and has a better feel than the 16 5/16.  Not a big deal for me as I hockey tape all these handles anyways.

If you're a serious woodworker... get all three.

Excellent product for heavy duty jobs

Great power and love that I can mode the handle where I need it.  Blade on the left really suits my cutting and like how the blade indents are clear for strait and beveled cuts

It's a beast

As a professional builder, I recognize any tool that saves time and offers a dependable result has value to the customer. When a laborer has to handle a unit multiple times, a process takes longer than when a unit is handled only a couple of times. If you are able to understand the cost associated with having one or two team members save an extra five to six minutes on a unit such as a decorative post or beam and multiply it over dozens of units, then it's hard not to justify the low cost of this saw. If you are a pro and handle 6X material semi-regularly, this saw is worth keeping in the tool shed. There is another teal-colored beam saw available, it is a good tool too.  This one is better.  At least for right-handed people like this guy. This saw allows one to cut large lumber and shape it with precision. The pictures I'm including are 6x6 posts fitted together with pretty tight joinery. The time saved on a project like this is significant with a beam saw.

My new Magnesium worm 16 5/16 Skilsaw was ready to put to work, right out of the box.. Not as heavy as other brands,  this bad boy cut through 6x6 timbers with ease.

Great power & quality. Grown men look at this saw like women look at newborn babies. My blade was not square out of the box & needed adjusting so don't start cutting without checking first. I'd buy this saw again!

Everything you hoped for

This monster is a million times better than the makita that we've all been forced to use because there was really no alternative. The blade position and larger table make it so much easier to operate and make precise cuts. Combined with the dust expulsion,  being 5 lbs. lighter, and saving $100, I  see no reason why anybody would choose the antiquated relic from years past. Skil has done a great job with re-inventing the beam saw and the travel case is the icing on the cake! So happy I pulled the trigger and bought this game changer which I am certain will make me more productive, efficient and the envy of the entire job site,( probably get a raise as well!)  It's easy to zero out and adjustments if need be . Had it for not even a week and I've got other carpenters trying to rent it from me, sorry  bro this is one tool I don't lend to anyone except my mentor who I know will treat it with the same respect I give it! Excellent saw!

I have managed to avoid buying the 16" for quite a few years, the 10" has been able to do what I needed. When it was time I'm very happy to have gone with the wormdrive option. Skill worm drive saws continue to be the best in all of their prospective classes

it's a beast!

after seeing other reviews I purchased this beam saw. It may be large but I truly was impressed not by the amazing features but how it powered through various thick boards with precision to help me finish some of my projects. I now have many more projects lined up to replacing some large beams in my very old house.

Amazing saw

We recently purchased this saw for a timber frame project. We were cut 12x12 solid Douglas fir and the saw didn't have the power it needed. We had a brand new Diablo blade on it and ran to a short beefy cord and still tripping breakers. Make a couple 45 degree cuts into 8”x14” and same problem with the addition to the blade completely stop spinning. It's a great saw because of the cutting capacity, just very unfortunate the motor is so underpowered.
