I sat on it without issues. I weight about 295. The design is such that you wouldn't want to wiggle around too much as it's almost entirely fiber board and if you bend any part of it I'm sure it would collapse. I use nit to store shoes by the door. I sit on it to take shoes off, but find it easier to put shoes on from a regular chair. It's just a little too low to the ground for me. i am considering seeing how well milk crates would fit inside for a little mire order and stability. looks good.

Our large service dogs need to be seen not breaking things at budget prices.

excellent all around  with large capacity storage, it doesn't look like it but the bench is  very sturdy construction it really can support a lot weight, %26 comfortable seat cushion. Definitely going to buy a few more.
