Setup process requires minimal effort and is straightforward.

Provides clear and vibrant images with excellent video resolution.

Displays crisp and vibrant images with detailed colors.

Very nice player for the price.  Better than the similarly priced Panasonic DMP-BD90 for the following reasons:  nicer physical appearance, quieter operation, coax digital audio output, more intuitive remote layout with larger buttons and TV power, input and volume controls, nicer looking interface that provides more information about currently playing disc or file, plays more file types from usb drive.  The biggest drawbacks with the Panasonic is its relatively noisy operation, very tiny play control buttons on remote, and relatively ugly, cheap-looking interface.  The Sony also uses a bit less power.  Picture and sound quality on both is pretty good and hard to tell the difference between them back to back.  For most people, the Sony is the better player.  Hope this helps.

I like the convenience of physical dvds to watch. I don't always have internet for streaming.
Sony's brand name has always been synonymous with quality. I have always gotten fine quality from Sony.
This modle has a HDMI port easy access on the front of the unit.

If you're looking for a Blu-ray/DVD player and you're on a budget, this Sony is hard to beat. Granted, there's no display on the front and it doesn't support WiFi (Ethernet only), but it does all the basics and features HDMI as well as a separate coax digital audio output, so you can run the audio separately to a stereo receiver or surround system. Overall I'm very happy with it.

The first one i bought was a different model. It was a Sony but didn't have the correct connection cable. This one has the HDMI port for modern smart tv's.  Sometimes sellers will refer to DVD/Blue Ray players as "old people" video players. Really? What if you have a collection of DVDs you don't want to throw out? What if you have old family videos you burned to DVD? What if you like to watch movies and videos without commercial interuption?
The answer for me is a DVD player. Tubi may have it's place, but I still like my own selection of videos without commercials and guess what? This DVD BlueRay player lets you watch and pause whenever you want! You have complete control with this Sony. It was at a very good price, too!

Nothing great but works well most of the time.  It will start up occasionally with no sound and I'll have to  exit out and restart and it will freeze on occasion.  Neither of this happens enough to be more than a slight irritation.  However, I wish I would have spent the extra $5 or $10 on the Panasonic machine I bought my parents

It's budget friendly

was wired not wireless, no mention of that in description. It said streaming but no directions on how to do that. The Netlix button did not bring up instructions for adding. The only Aop available was the USB port.
The Dvd Bluray play worked well though

disappointed in streaming access

Limitation of 500 files per folder. Very slow to load/display. Some files may not play. Mainly got it to play.wmv files which it does play for the most part. Display quality is very good. It does the basics, like playing commercial Blu-ray discs, quite well.

I don't understand how not even 25 days old and it's already failed. For the expense I would expect a much better product. I could've got a cheaper one but figured this would be better. At first did great and now won't play any brand new or ones I've had. Discs are clean and no scratches but keeps saying check disc. Won't read any dvd now

Well the Blu-ray feature quit and i can't watch any of my Blu-rays it keeps saying all of my disks are scratched or have fingerprints but when i put them in my Xbox they play perfectly. luckily i got the extended warranty 👍

I purchased it in July and used it once. I wanted to use it again in October, but it's not working, apparently. This model has serious issues, and I didn't see anyone mentioning this in the Walmart reviews. The one time I used it, it worked fine, like any other Blu-ray player
