I just started building Lego Sets as a form of therapy. I have Huntingtons Disease and it's a tough life. This is the biggest build I have done so far (I've been building for about a month). I did run into a few challenges in adding a few pieces but all in all it was a fun couple of hours. I found the more I build the better I can get the pieces together better every build. I'm thinking of taking it apart and rebuilding it better, and enjoy the build again. It is kinda flimsy so I don't let my 3 year old Grandson play with this piece yet. I recommend this set to anyone that just enjoys a good Lego build. Disclaimer, this is my first review, I hope to get better at it.

Fun to build

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's difficult for me to review a Lego product. They've been with me for the past forty years and are now a big part of my children's play. My eleven year old was crazy stoked with this AT-AT and he built it in a day. It did actually stress his abilities though, which i'm grateful for. I wish he would have savored it a bit more, but one can't really advise a youth about his legos. 

The build is super intricate, and includes all kinds of interior details, such as computers, consoles, seats, and a bonus speeder bike. 

The two small critiques I have for the AT-AT is that the sides of the cockpit and the "radar dishes" on each of the legs don't really stay on. Not a criticism of the blocks, but of the building design. This build works much better as a shelf model than a playset. Such is life. It's still Lego and still honestly magical.

Beautiful build.

Ok, so I bought this to accurately recreate the battle of Hoth as featured in The Empire Strikes back. Yes, I probably have too much time on my hands, and have probably grown my Star Wars Lego collection to an unhealthy amount for an adult, but nevertheless the AT-AT is perhaps the most iconic vehicle in the Star Wars universe and so is a must have model for any fan. 

Also at 1267 pieces versus the UCS AT-AT's 6785 it can be built whilst still holding down a full-time job. Yes it won't be to true scale as the UCS version is designed to be, but at 34cm height and 38cm length it will still dwarf the rest of most collections.

Build time is 2-4 hours depending on experience and pace, or roughly 1.5 Star Wars films, and the digital instructions via the free Lego app were perfect as per usual.

The model comes with six mini figures: An Imperial Officer, two crewman, two Snowtroopers and a Luke Skywalker (the Snowspeeder pilot version with lightsaber and thermal detonator) plus a bonus speeder bike.

The model is relatively sturdy once built and whilst the legs can be placed in a walking pose they are best left straight for stability. Both sides of the main body open to reveal five seats for transporting Snowtroopers and the rear of the body opens to accommodate the speeder bike. I was amazed to find that the small cockpit section manages to seat both the officer and the two crewmen meaning that all Imperial minifigures can be transported to battle en route to obliterate a rebel base. They were only following orders.

There is also a hidden winch which retracts beneath the model allowing you to re-enact Luke scaling the AT-AT and destroying it with the thermal detonator if you so wish. I frankly couldn't be bothered.

Overall this is a fantastic model, not only a good display piece but also offers great playability for kids or adults in their 30s. 

Rarely enough I would also suggest for a Lego model it is fairly priced baring in mind the size, brick count and mini figures. A must buy for all Lego Star Wars fans.

Imperial troops have entered the base!

This is absolutely a big upgrade. 2020 Lego ATAT has movie-accurate details and play features. Lego not only optimized the design, they also utilized every space in this vehicle. For the first time, the head can carry three mini-figures. We can put snow speed-bike in its trunk. And there are plenty of seats inside ATAT. If you don't want to play it, you can still buy it as a display set, because it looks exactly like those in the movies.

There's a little problem I want to complain about. Why I can't upload any photo in my review? Is the macOS Big Sur compatibility? or my file error?

Best ATAT Lego ever made

This has to be the most detailed AT-AT LEGO has produced so far. All the minifigures got some nice updates (apart from Luke Skywalker as he is from the 20th anniversary snowspeeder) and the AT-AT is looking better than ever! A very detailed set with many play features for young children. The only problem that I faced with is a chipped piece but it wasn't a huge deal as it was hidden in head area.

A fantastic build and play experience!

I have not owned all the AT-AT's that were released previously but I have owned a few of them, including the motorized one. This is by far the best in design and sturdiness. I've dropped this thing twice and the only things that ever fall off was the small side panels.

Best AT-AT by far

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is a Star Wars fanatic and he loves Lego almost as much as Star Wars, so this was the perfect gift for him. He was very excited when we received the AT AT and it took him a little over four hours to build. This AT AT is very well designed and looks just like the AT AT's in Star Wars. It is rather large also. I believe it is around 16 inches tall and has room to fit 3 drivers in the head of the vehicle and an additional 5 storm troopers in the hull of the vehicle and in the rear there is a speeder bike.

My only critique for this set is that the head of the ATAT can only swivel from right to left, it would have been better if you could move the head up and down. But besides this the set is something your child will love.

Best Lego AT AT set yet

I like most people hadn't purchased the AT-AT during its run in 2014 but I was glad I didn't.  This set was a blast to build from start to finish with excellent minifigs and great displayability.  This is the best version of the AT-AT walker ever produced it is extremely accurate to the film and functions like it should.  I had loved that we finally got a walker that can hold both walker pilots just like the film.  If you are a die-hard Star Wars fan this is a must-have with this set it for me this set nearly completes my Empire Strikes Back collection I promise you, this set is a must have.

Best AT-AT ever

My grandson was very excited to receive this for Christmas. He's only 6, so below the recommended age for this set. But he's an avid LEGO fan and able to put most of his sets together with minimal help. He really really wanted this set! He and his dad put this together over a 2 day period; my grandson did get a little tired of working on it and asked for a break. So the only disappointment with the set is its tendency to come apart when moving it. My grandson likes to actively play with / move his LEGO sets around like action figures, but this set doesn't seem geared for that type of play. So if you're planning to buy this set, keep that in mind.

AT AT great but not practical for “play”

Let me start by saying that having a lego build that looks just like the AT-AT from the films is a huge accomplishment. Once it is built is looks incredible. However, the build itself was far more challenging than it needed to be, especially on the head portion. There is not much room to hold all 3 minifigs without the walls wanting to fall off. And, unless you leave the legs straight up and down, the weight of the body just collapses the whole thing. Definitely cannot play with it at all. Of the 100 or so sets my daughter has built, this is by far the worst thought out design and the least playable set.

This is an amazing set that my son, who is a huge Star Wars fan, wanted for Christmas.  He was so excited initially until he found that the instruction manual was shredded (manufacturing defect?).  Anyway, hard to build without this!  Hopefully we can get a new one or download one from the internet (which is suboptimal).  We'll be writing to lego support too, to see if they can find a solution.
