i used it to fix my car roof cloth and it did its job very well i must say...no glue signs and dry quick...

Ive been using 3M Super77 for 20+ years, never even once had an issue.
Used to permanently bond hundreds of different materials-and
when i say permanently, i bloody mean it! Its is like contact adhesive
and its never dissolved ANY foams for me.
NOTE- for best results use common sense and good practice, and read the entire label, but in addition, remember the 7 P's: Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents a P*ss-Poor Performance!

In a well ventilated area, prepare a temporary "spray zone",  covered by taped-down card or paper, around the items you expect to bond-this zone will catch any overspray, which is a hard  to remove, and attracts dust over time, giving you a carpet-like area of black crud. (acetone will get rid of this, but why waste time with cleanup, when a few moments of forethought will obviate this step)

Shake well, yes shake it good! Check visually that the spray button orifice isnt obstructed by previously dried adhesive. Dont be lazy, a blocked nozzle WILL spatter the spray pattern.
If it needs cleaning, pop it into a cup of turps or other thinner and agitate or leave for a few minutes until the dried glue is loose enough to remove.

Make sure spray button is replaced in the can aligned with the dot on the upper rim. This ensures the aerosol inner tube is well within the cans inner contents, even when near empty, also preventing intermittent spray delivery (spattered uneven glue blobs).

Correct distance to ensure even coat, 8-10 inches. The emerging flat fan spray pattern can be rotated 90 degrees, it is not a conical spray shape as car paint cans are, but can be adjusted to match your spraying direction (are you spraying from left to right, or up to down). 

Test your material on a scrap before applying glue to parts, to ascertain whether what your'e sticking requires one or both of the parts to be sprayed, and whether a double coat is required on each side (obviously waiting 3-5 mins between coats), some absorbent surfaces like leather need 2 thin coats on each mating face, and allowed to dry to touch before bringing them together.

Bear in mind that because Super77 is freaking strong, its always better to put slightly more than you think is required, as separating underglued items to add more glue is next to baeucoup difficile, once dried.

Absolutely Reliable  Must-Have product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3M sells a variety of spray adhesives, but typically only the 77 (multipurpose) and 90 (high-strength) formulations are available for sale at the local hardware stores. The 77 has served me well for years and I've never seen the need for any additional grip in a variety of applications. Spraying just one surface is adequate for most situations, but I usually spray both for veneer. Also, it seems to work best if at least one of the surfaces is porous - maybe something to do with outgassing.  Overspray is inevitable if you want complete edge-to-edge coverage and laying down protective plastic or paper beneath often takes more time than anything else. Be sure to clean the spray tip after each use or else the spray pattern can be unpredictable - excessive overspray patterns and/or blobs of adhesive on mating surfaces. Acetone seems to work best for cleaning the tip itself and I often squirt a small amount in the plastic dispenser tube as well so that it won't clog up - just be sure to shake it out after a couple of seconds.  This product is best for medium to large surface areas, particularly flat pieces that need to be accurately positioned - it usually gives you a second chance to adjust the pieces so long as you haven't pressed them together. A wooden rolling pin works great as a improvised brayer. I also appreciate that there is no bleed-through on thinner surfaces, such as medium-weight paper.

Works Much Better Than Traditional Contact Cement!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free sample for my unbiased opinion.  I never knew I needed this until I started going around the house and seeing everything falling apart. This was so great for re-attaching linoleum panel strips around the house that have otherwise made the place look run down and I didn't know how to repair. This product was like having contractor-construction level tools on hand but for normal people to use! It's one of those things you never knew you needed until you have and you're like, WOW! This works so great!!   The only drawback was that the spray can go a little wide so some may end up on the floor. An easy fix is to lay down some newspaper before you spray so you don't end up with sticky residue on the floor. Otherwise I give this an easy 10 out of 10!!

Great household adhesive!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as a sample. It works as described. I glued my house shoe that had came apart. It worked fine. It takes a while to dry on fabric, but when it does, it holds. The scent is not strong and it drys clear.

Works as promised

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free can of the 3M super 77 spray adhesive to try and evaluate. It is a versatile adhesive and can be used on quite a variety of surfaces. One thing I liked is you have a little time (it needs to slightly dry and get tacky) before you join the pieces, so I felt it gave enough time to accurately get things positioned. It does dry quickly and dries clear. It also has a strong hold, so won't come undone and have to be refastened. As with most adhesives like this, you do have to use precautions. The versatility of this product certainly makes it a good choice for many things, definitely an item to keep on hand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product works great! I have always had issues with sticky labels sticking to a wooden mail sorter in my office. Recently, several of the sticky labels fell off and I used this product to reattach the labels. It works wonderfully and does not appear as though they will fall off again!!

Just follow the directions on what works best as my daughter tried to use it for a school project that involved grass and cardboard and it did not work well on that at all..

3M DIY

I used this product to apply tolex covering to a wooden enclosure. I carefully followed all instructions, the wood was clean and free of any contamination. Temperature was optimal. Everything looked OK until a few days later when several of the seams started to lift and would not stay stuck down. This is the second time I have had problems with this product, guess I should have learned the first time. Now I am out the labor and materials for the tolex installation. Hopefully, IF I can get the sticky goo from the wood, I can try something else on the enclosure as I certainly do not want to start over from scratch. I have a lot of respect for 3M products, this is a big disappointment.
