I've had this running on my spypoint camera for a year now with no issues whatsoever . Extremely happy and highly recommend. (Northern Illinois)

We have 2 of these out ,even after a week of rainy weather these chargers haven't dropped below 90 percent and during deer season we get a ton of pictures!

I have tried the "Built in Solar" models and sorry but they all seemed to have issues whether it was getting wet inside the camera or just not holding a charge.  The SPLB-22 in my opinion is a simple and tested (over a year now) solution.  As of today I have had Zero issues with the four I have bought, these have already paid for themselves with what I have saved in buying batteries and not having to take the time to change batteries.  If you want a "Set it and Forget it" solution these are worth the money. Charge the panel completely before taking it to the woods, make sure to have adequate expose to the sun, connect to camera and you are good to go!

Works Great

Great panel and works as it should so far. I have had it out for several months and it is working great. Only thing that would be better is that they do not include a swivel bracket for the end of the metal tree mount and with out it the metal bracket that is included will not work. I purchased a 1/4 20 swivel bracket so I could use the screw in bracket instead of the included strap. This allows the panel to be tilted better to catch the sun than the strap

I just bought it. So far it's going well. The overall quality of the product is very good. He seem strong, and made to last long. The panel's support isn't quite appropriate for the size of the panel.  I took another support that works better for the install. The price is really good considering that the built-in battery is more powerful than many other solar panel with built-in battery on the market. 

Now... The LED indicator on the panel... Currently on the Spypoint panel, green means it's charging, and red means it's fully charged... It would have been much easier to have: Yellow or red when charging, and green when the battery is fully charged. Most solar systems use yellow when charging and green when fully charged. And red when it's dead... Why do the opposite?

Work great for now

I bumped them up to a 3 star since they finally have a replacement cable for the 1.5mm 12V output on the solar panel available on their website. They now offer the 1.5mm cable and 1.7mm cable even though they tried to tell me in my previous review that they never changed 12V output connections. It looks like they finally realized they did in 2024. Thank you for finally offering a replacement cable. If you would now offer a cable with a critter protective sheath around it you would solve all my problems. There are a lot of good cable options out there with a metal sheath around the cable for the 1.7mm solar panels but nothing available for the 1.5mm. Please look into making one. I can't get a regular cable to last more than a month without getting chewed up.

Finally getting somewhere with the cables

Purchased 2 of these, both lasted just beyond the warranty and died. It would be great if they made the LIT 22 battery bidirectional so it will charge through the contacts and have an access door where you could replace the battery when it fails

Works great till they don't.

So first of all I loved the solar panel until they changed the 12V output connection on the solar panel. The supplied cable that goes from the solar panel to the camera just doesn't stand up to rodents chewing through them. I would buy 3rd party armored cables and I had cameras out for years without messing with them. The old 12V output connection on the solar panel was a 4.0x1.7mm that was easy to find. Then they changed the 12V output connection to a 1.5mm that is impossible to find and Spypoint won't even sell them. Even if they did sell them they need to supply an armored cable that will last. I will be switching to a different solar panel if they don't figure this out. Which is sad because I already had 6 of these solar panels.

Need to figure out the cables and connections!

Bought 2 of these a month ago and both were working great. Checked on cameras and both wires were broken. Wire definitely needs to be upgraded.

Cheap wire connection

My son got my husband a remote Spy Point trail camera for Christmas. It worked great and he used it all season. I got this solar panel for him for his birthday in August so he wouldn't have to replace the batteries all the time. It never worked. He tried mounting it in different spots over the months but could never get it to work. He finally just left it out in full sun to test it and now his camera won't work. So my gift seems to have broken his good remote trail camera. Big wife fail.
