We've been putting away our various gas engines such as the riding mower in the fall with a liberal splash of STA-BIL in the tank. Results speak for themselves as the gas stays fresh and ready to rumble in the spring. We also keep the product in the tank of our generator to ensure it will start whenever it's needed.

I have been using this for years as a recommendation from my dad. This is great to use for gas storage, when you find it cheap and store a couple back, to keep it from going stale. You can use it for mowers in the end of season storage and vehicles too. It has jumped up in price, but it is still worth it to save your equipment.

Sta-Bil

Sta-Bil is the best fuel stabilizer I've found.  They claim it works for two years.  Ive personally tested it for one year.  I use it in mowers, tractors, 4-syroke chain saws, and cars.  The only caveat is to run the engine long enough to get the stabilized fuel into the carburetor before long term storage.  Coupled with the need to store it with a full fuel tank (to minimize the tank inhaling moist air during temperature fluctuations) it is often helpful to add stabilizer for the last two tanks before storage.

Best Stabilizer for Gasoline

A must have for todays fuels for anything stored away for long periods of time.  
example; lawn mowers , boats , presure washer, leaf blowers, chainsaws, classic cars %26 trucks , and stored fuel. 
helps to prevent fuel system fouling and corrosion .

I usually have about 70-80 l of gas on hand for my generator, lawn mower, snowblower.  Keeping it fresh is very important to me.  Since I started using Sta-Bil I have not had any fuel related issues with any of my power equipment.   For me Sta-Bil is a must have.

Great product

Over the years I  have had a recurring problem.  A gas mower or weed wacker or snow thrower would not start.  The first cause  on the trouble shooting list is "old fuel".     We all know it's a bad habit to leave fuel in these machines long term; but we all have bad habits.    When I do purchase fresh fuel, I add the STA-BIL.  My label on the fuel container states the date of purchase   Stabilizer.  This is a convenient solution, and the mower or snow thrower starts easily when I need it.

Amazing Product

If you are in a situation where your vehicle is to be in storage or would not be driven often enough to use a tankful of gas for many months, STA BIL added to the tank will keep the gas usable for up to two years. The engine starts easily and runs smoothly even if the gas gets old.  It s great stuff !

Keeps gas fresh

What I didn't see mentioned on the product page is that this fuel stabilizer is only good for 2 years after you open the bottle. Keep that in mind if you don't have much gasoline that you need to add it too. Even though the 32oz bottle is much cheaper per oz vs the 8oz bottle, you might want to save half the money on the smaller bottle if you don't have enough gas to use up the bigger one before it expires in 2 years.

Bought STA-BIL to store a 2014 ford Edge for several months while not in use.  

fyi:  This bottle has 2 caps.  Don't let that discourage you.  You do NOT have to do any mixing.  I believe the long-neck cap is for adding STA-BIL to newer vehicles which require an adapter to add anything to fuel.  If you open the other cap as well, the product will simply pour out much faster.
I chose to leave the other cap closed and sealed.  I used only the long-neck and zi squeezed the bottle a little to allow only a little product at a time to be added to my fuel tank.  imo, this way assures not dumping too much into your fuel tank.

Followed directions.  Filled gas tank and added 2.5 ounces per gallon.  Edge holds around 19 gals I think.  So I added about 8 ounces.  Drove the Edge for about 20-30 minutes, afterward.  Directions state to drive vehicle for 5-10 minutes to distrubute the stabilizer throughout the fuel system.

Only time will tell if this works.  

I also charged battery and then disconnected ground cable.
I pumped tires to 40 lbs.  
And I covered rear exhaust tips with plastic bags (to keep out bugs/rodents).

Gas stabilizer is somewhat new to me so, I can't be positive or negative about its performance. Instructions say to keep your container full of gas to keep condensation from forming inside your gas can. Since the company isn't releasing ALL the information about their product, I would say that you would be better off to use up all of your gas in one season.
