[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a longtime fan of Stardew Valley, I was both excited and a little nervous to bring Pelican Town to the table. Thankfully, this board game captures the spirit of the video game beautifully. The artwork, the components, even the little details in the cards and dice — everything feels handcrafted with the same love and care that made the original so special.

Gameplay is rich and cooperative, with plenty of strategy baked into farming, fishing, mining, and building relationships with villagers. Completing Grandpa's Goals and restoring the Community Center is incredibly rewarding, and it really feels like you're working together to save the valley. It's challenging, too — you can't just coast, you have to plan, adapt, and sometimes take risks.

That said, it isn't a quick game. Setup takes some time, and a full playthrough can stretch into hours, especially with new players. There's also a fair bit of luck involved with dice rolls and card draws, which can frustrate if you're hoping for a purely strategic experience.

I've been waiting for a while to purchase this and when I saw that it was on sale, I scooped it up and ever since I received it we've been playing it and it's been an amazing experience. I'd love the artwork. It feels like the actual game in a way, my sisters enjoy it. I bring it to me with me to parties and stuff. It's really fun. I highly recommend it. I played this at a friend's house and ever since then I've been really wanting it and I'm so glad I bought it. love love it!
