Large enough for families and gatherings.

Provides heat for hours with even distribution.

The fit and finish of this pot is great. I have so far only used it to cook chili in, but it did its job as it should and was easy to clean. I've owned other pots of this type that were enameled inside on the cooking surface, and the cooking interior of this pot seems way better to me. Easier to clean for sure and no staining. We ordered the extra rabbit handle(it was free for a promotion) and it came in a separate shipment. Wish it would have came installed on the lid but that's a minor inconvenience since it was free. Just be aware that if order a different lid knob, you have to install it yourself. I would definitely buy another one just like it and the other sizes too.

This 7 quart dutch oven is perfect to cook for a crowd.  The color is lovely!  It is hefty and the underside of the lid has little knobs that really make a difference with keeping food moist.  I did order the pig knob for it, which makes it a show stopper!

Lovely Large Dutch Oven

I received my Staub yesterday after scoring a great deal during their Black Friday sale. The grenadine color is gorgeous. I was eager to use it right away, so I made my beef stew. Not only was it delicious, but the pot retained heat so well and I do believe the lid design really helps lock in the moisture. I went with the 7 qt dutch oven as I often batch cook. This will provide plenty of room for all of my meals and can certainly fit a medium chicken. While I recognize this is an expensive purchase, you can tell out of the box that this is a quality piece of cookware that could be passed down to the next generation.

Gorgeous Grenadine Color, Delicious Cooking

So great!! Used it and never want to go back to any other pan!! Such good heat retention and cooks so evenly!!! Now I'm like what am I gonna buy next!! And the color is sooo luxeee

Cast iron Dutch oven (red)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the user. This beautiful color, Grenadine 7 qt, is my preferred Staub oven, but in my collection I have several other colors and enjoy each one. Honestly, the Majolique colors are the very best and worth the little extra price. I never see fingerprints and they are like stained glass, different lighting give a different appearance. I love this size for entertaining, it gives food a bit of room to move around, which makes it easier to use from oven to table. A nice sized roast fits comfortably along with any root veggies that you want to add. It gives you room to stir the liquid without spilling a drop for liquid gold!

My favorite dutch oven!

This 7 quart cocotte is the perfect size for my large extended family.  Makes chili for 20 and easily have leftovers.  Staub is not only beautiful but it is designed to make your food taste better then ever.  The dark interior is not only stain resistant, but also helps caramelize the meats which adds a tremendous amount of flavor. Great for searing meats for stews and roasts.  The spikes on the bottom of the lid help collect the liquids and self bastes which keeps things nice and moist. Best part is that is great to serve from...looks great, keeps everything hot and makes clean up a little easier.

Chili for a Crowd

The cocotte is well crafted and large enough to prepare meals for a family. The grenadine color is beautiful.

Lid doesn't fit right

I used a recommended cleaner, Bar Keeper's Friend, and it destroyed the enamel on the base of the cocotte. I'm fairly positive my product was defective, because I hand washed the lid the exact same way and with the exact same product, and it looks perfectly fine. Just get a Lodge or something cheaper, Staub is absolutely not worth it.
