<p>Leading chefs worldwide favor Staub cocottes for their exceptional stewing properties. Made from cast iron with a matte black enamel interior, these cocottes retain and distribute heat evenly. This is a stunning addition to my kitchen. I added the lobster knob and it really does wow! It cooks beautifully and clean up is a breeze. Additionally, I had some pre order interactions with customer service and that team was gracious and competent. Pleased with the entire experience.

You can't beat the quality of these pots. They  cook evenly and I love how the lid basted the food while cooking. I can go from stove to grill as well. This is my 2nd purchase of a Staub pot.

Can't beat the quality

I love this size and I love this shape especially for roasting chickens or baking a boule of sourdough bread. You have enough room to add all of your vegetables in with the chicken, which is a huge plus. For baking bread the cast iron is perfect because it conducts heat so well, and retains the heat. The spikes under the lid collect moisture and self-baste whatever dish you are baking or roasting in the oven, all while it is cooking, so almost like you have an extra hand! You get to take all the credit though! Bread does come out perfect when baked in a staub and your chickens will come out juicy and golden brown.

Beautiful and well made. Great for making soups, stews and bread. Perfect size!

I've made long roast that won't fit in a round. I also make my marinara in it. Perfect size for a giant can of tomatoes. One of my best kitchen purchases ever

This bright Cherry oval cocotte is sure to add a colorful statement to your kitchen and dinner table. This piece is incredibly versatile due to its size and will yield amazing results with the combined innovations of the self-basting lid and pre-seasoned enameled interior. Looking for some recipe inspiration? The Staub cookbook will have tons of ideas for what to cook in this big guy!

Staub has the ability to anticipate what a cook wants. The oval shape offers a terrific interior space to give room all around a long roast or a whole bird. The larger size will offer ample space for a larger roast and the root veggies that could surround that roast beautifully.

You can sear meat, simmer a sauce, make a stew, roast vegetables, fry chicken, boil potatoes, bake a dessert, and everything in between!  The heat capability of this pan is phenomenal.  It heats up quickly, evenly, and retains heat all the way through the cooking process.  The cocotte has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish - keeping your dish moist and the flavor base intact.  The pan can be used on any cooking surface and is temperature safe up to 500F.

Cheery, cherry color and beautifully crafted.  Big pot for big meals.  
All the features that you expect  from Staub.  Perfect even heating and heat retention.  Excellent for browning and searing on high heat! I like to use this pot for lamb and veal shanks..Great release as a result of the innovative black matte interior.  I often use a damp cloth to clean!!  beautiful pot!
