[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to say I am impressed with the quality and ease of use this oil provides. My Stihl equipment including my blower pack, string trimmer and my chainsaw all run on the same HP oil. Its so easy to mix and mix correctly just 1 gallon of gas and pour in a bottle of the HP oil and you are set. The engines all run smoothly and have no signs of carbine build up or excessive smoke from the exhaust. I rely on my equipment from Stihl and this oil gives me piece of mind that its being maintained internally correctly year after year.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This product is great and works very well with my Stihl gear. Ive only used this Ultra oil because when the dealer sold me my first stihl trimmer he said if i use this and only this, the dealer can see a difference if they have to take apart the engine. I depend on my equipment and it has yet to fail me.

Wonderful Product!

I have been using this 2 cycle oil for several years and some on my stihl equipment have several hundred hours on them and still run like new. While doing a valve adjustment on some of the 4 mix engines I was very impressed with how clean the inside of the engine is even after running for so many hours.

Excellent oil

I mixed up a gal. of 50:1. I ran the saw down to half a tank. Every time i cut down a large tree, i top off the gas, don't want to run out in the middle of the cut, a 4 ft.dia.tree, 18 in. bar, about the max for this saw. Topped off the saw, cut the tree down, now i'm limbing the downed tree when i noticed the saw is running hot. Stop the saw! I didn't realize i had topped it off with straight gas. I grabbed lawnmower gas by mistake. That was about 3 years ago, and the saw still runs good. The eng. never seized up. And this saw calls for 40:1 gas oil ratio. Any other oil would have cost me the eng. That eng.was running on about a 100:1 gas. oil ratio! This oil is awsome!

I mostly use Walmart 2cycle oil and mix it a little heavier just in case for better lubrication and it works fine. I can't really tell the difference between that and Stihl except price. I bought Stihl this time just because people say it's better and I'm only going to be cutting about 5 cords a year now so this much oil should last a long time. So the extra cost over time is not that much and knowing I have the better oil, supposedly.
 I can't tell the difference. I've never had to tear a saw down to see what the difference is inside.

Stihl oil this time

Been using HP Ultra for many years with no issues. My last purchase about a year ago the bottle seals under the cap had changed and I really hate the new ones. Old style was a lift and peel that came off perfectly and the new ones are an aluminum foil seal. You can't peel the foil off so the only option is to poke a hole through it and peel pieces back with the risk of dropping small fragments in the oil. For the cost of this oil we should be getting the best product that we expect from the Stihl brand.

Good oil terrible bottle seal

I have ran the orange bottle for years and also in the last years I have run the ultra horsepower synthetic. Never had a problem with the older orange bottle oil.  The new ultra hp the shelf life for this oil, now that it has gotten biodegradable, is absolutely unacceptable. You can't store the oil for any more than a couple years or it goes bad. And that's pushing it. I ended up buying Amsoil 2-stroke oil and it actually Burns a lot cleaner than what sthil does and it's a robust quality oil.
 Like everything else these new Engineers need to go back to the drawing board and listen to the people who retired that know something about making quality items and equipment.

Made cheap now like everything else.
