You Can't Go Wrong!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My new backpack blower loves this oil. Blower wasn't cheap, i want it to last a long time. Manufacturer recommends this so I'll follow that.

Right oil  for my Stihl backpack.

This is the best oil you can buy, hands down!  

All the people freaking out about the 21 day biodegradability of this oil need to buy a dictionary and educate themselves about what the word "biodegrade" actually means. When Stihl says this oil will biodegrade by 80% in 21 days, they are talking "in the environment". IE:The ground/dirt. THAT is what the word "biodegrade" means!  Your oil will NOT "biodegrade" in the bottle, tank or saw, that isn't how Biodegradation works.  Educate yourself before making random things up!

I have used Ultra since my first Stihl equipment many years ago.  There is a lot of misunderstanding about this fully synthetic and biodegradable oil.  This oil has a shelf life, unopened, of at least 4-years.  Like any oil/gas mixture it is best used in about 30-days due to many issues not related to the oil.  This oil does not degrade in the gas mixture in 21-days, but it does degrade when put into the environment (like the soil).  Just not in your gas tank.  Use fuel stabilizer to help the gasoline not varnish up.

Good quality oil, works great

I am a Radio Control Airplane Hobbyist who flies gasoline powered planes, using engines very similar to those found in a chain saw. This oil has proven to be the best we have tried at our club so far. Some of my fellow club members and myself were using very expensive high end oils from different manufactures but found that the Stihl Ultra outperformed them all. It is not that the other high end oils are bad; they are just not design for such small engines like the Stihl Ultra is. The biggest difference we found was in how clean the engines look from the inside when using Stihl Ultra. The difference between two engines, one using Ultra and another one using anything else, is evident right away.

Ecxellent for RC gasoline engines. Cleanest oil I've found.

Look, Stihl power equipment deserves to be taken care of. This is especially important during break-in periods when friction & heat will be at their highest. Stihl will increase your product warranty when you purchase HP Ultra Oil in combination with your equipment purchase! Ask your dealer for details. I often wonder if I had been using this oil in my FS-550 a few years back...it wouldn't have seized up! Trust me, I do use it now in my MS-362, MS-661, BR-600, FS-460, & FS-560. That is way too much of an investment in equipment not to take care of. Friction performance is way better than standard 2-cycle mix.

Take Care of your INVESTMENT!

I started using HP ULTRA STIHL Engine oil when gasoline started adding Ethanol. Since I switched to Premium Gasoline and HP ULTRA, I have had 90-95% less starting problems and overall maintenance to my STIHL chainsaws. It may cost a little more, BUT what you save in repair costs far outweigh the price. HP ULTRA is all I ever use in my STIHL equipment. GREAT product!

Excellent product for the serious user.

This product is great and works very well with my Stihl gear. Ive only used this Ultra oil because when the dealer sold me my first stihl trimmer he said if i use this and only this, the dealer can see a difference if they have to take apart the engine. I depend on my equipment and it has yet to fail me.

Wonderful Product!

I started running this oil last summer in all my 2 cycle engines . And they started preforming like new . Recently purchased a MS 250 and the dealer and he insisted I buy a six pack to extend warranty . And per 2.8 oz bottle by buying it in the pack it is actually cheaper than what is sold in the box stores . For avabilty the local general store here even sells it.

Primum Oil , Great product.

I mostly use Walmart 2cycle oil and mix it a little heavier just in case for better lubrication and it works fine. I can't really tell the difference between that and Stihl except price. I bought Stihl this time just because people say it's better and I'm only going to be cutting about 5 cords a year now so this much oil should last a long time. So the extra cost over time is not that much and knowing I have the better oil, supposedly.
 I can't tell the difference. I've never had to tear a saw down to see what the difference is inside.

Stihl oil this time

I have ran the orange bottle for years and also in the last years I have run the ultra horsepower synthetic. Never had a problem with the older orange bottle oil.  The new ultra hp the shelf life for this oil, now that it has gotten biodegradable, is absolutely unacceptable. You can't store the oil for any more than a couple years or it goes bad. And that's pushing it. I ended up buying Amsoil 2-stroke oil and it actually Burns a lot cleaner than what sthil does and it's a robust quality oil.
 Like everything else these new Engineers need to go back to the drawing board and listen to the people who retired that know something about making quality items and equipment.

Made cheap now like everything else.
