I've been suggested this movie ad nauseam for the last 10 years, and when I finally watched it, it lived up to the hype and then some. Great Lovecraftian moments with cheesy ‘80s dialogue is a great combination. Can't suggest this one enough.

A classic

This movie rocks! the bluray transfer is almost
flawless, blacks are bold and colors are vibrent. there is almost no grain interfearence.
JOHN CARPENTER'S THE THING is what horror/sci-fi
movies are made of. it keeps a hitchcock paranoia
through out the picture giving the ending....the only end it deserves! AWSOME. A MUST SEE.

THE THING OF IT

For a film of this age to look this good on Blu-Ray is not heard of very often! The Blu-Ray transfer of this disc is fantastic. The whites are right on without over saturation & blacks look deep as they should. There is some grain but not too much that it's a issue. This disc is one to show a friend just how good Blu-Ray really is!

Superior Picture Quality

3 years after Alien, this movie delivers the same level of thrills and suspense with excellent acting and direction from the pair Russell/Carpenter.

A classic in movie making. Bust be seen in blu-ray.
