The coffee maker is of impeccable quality. Easy operation, very easy adaptation according to the tastes of each. I totally recommend this product! * The water recovery tray under the device lacks a bit of volume.

This is my first coffee machine and I don't hesitate to recommend it. Beautiful design and easy maintenance, this machine has been thought out and it is a success, finally for us at home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to use and easy to clean, but, of course, the best feature is quality espresso. As good as the big commercial espresso machines produce. And, it makes a wide variety of choices in espresso drinks two at time. This is a great feature when your partner prefers your same espresso drinks The cappuccino is exquisite with thick foam. Never going back to what we thought was the best manufacturer of home espresso machines. This machine is the best by far.

Excellent espresso far superior to competitors

[Employee of philipsglobal] Great looking expresso machine. I had another espresso machine prior with a steam wand and my wife likes this one more due to the simplicity and the personal settings. I would say the miss on this machine is the plate warmer on top. Doesn't get warm enough and I believe is plastic. The other espresso machine had a medal plate and warmed the ceramic cups which is a nice feature. Also, given the touch screen design, maybe should've included an automatic timer so the system is ready to go first thing in the morning under personal programable settings?? Sure Philips thought of it but not sure why it wasn't included. Otherwise happy with purchase.

This is a great product

Great product, good quality and easy to maintain. Definitely a good product for anyone looking at this price range.

Although a few suggestions to improve the consumer experience:
1- A recipe book explaining the difference between the different recipes offered.
2- A Coffee 101 to help new customers and new to  espresso machines customers to help choose different coffee beans, how to store them, the frequency to buy them. 
3- A coffee quality help document, to help customers fine tune their machine to their liking. Ex: having a coarser grain if the coffee flow is too liquid.
4- The ability to plug it directly to a water source.

Wonderful. Made great coffee

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Saeco Taleo Giro was like a family pet, but when her initial cost, plus repairs, added up to the cost of this one, I put her out to pasture.
If I'd done it sooner I'd have realized how much better my coffee could be.  The Giro paid for itself in a year. The Xcelsis may do it in half the time because it can deliver so many drink choices.

So much better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The coffee is NEVER HOT ENOUGH not even the expresso. The cappuccino sometimes doesn't grind the beans so water comes out I have to stand there. The coffee looks and tastes great but I use expensive beans!

I'm very disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The reasons I gave 3 stars:
1. PRICE. I think this machine is overpriced. Especially considering it recommends not to use dark roast beans.
2. The weekly / monthly cleaning can become a lot of work. Yes, I get lazy sometimes....
3. Although I like its multiple drinks, somehow it will never be the same as the coffee you get at a coffee shop...
4. I don't trust its measurements. If it says 5ML of milk, it will NOT use 5ML...

If I had to buy it again, I would think twice, mostly because of its cost.

Overpriced. Still love it, though.

I bought the xelsis as a Christmas gift for my wife. Unfortunately we are very disappointed with it. 
We use the highest temp setting but still the coffe is barely luke warm. My wife uses our old machine to brew her coffee then the Xelsls to make froth. I usually microwave my cup after using the Xselsis.
