I wish I had taken photos during the incredibly frustrating assembly process. My husband and I had to assemble multiple bookshelves we ordered while redecorating our home, and this particular brand/model is BY FAR THE WORST. We had no issues with the others we ordered from different sellers.

First, this is a metal/plastic bookshelf, which is my own darn fault for not realizing right away, however the photo shows this model available in a lighter color with faux wood grain, and not many companies make indoor metal bookcases so it was an oversight to say the least. 

Now for the real issues... The metal is very loud and the shelves bend too easily. The whole unit is very sketchy to move because it bends and twists all over the place. 

The back panel provided is not wide enough to line up with the holes all the way down on both sides, so we had to make very frustrating modifications to get the shelves to work with the backing. 

Not to mention, the shelves do not screw in from the side or have pegs like normal bookcases do... Instead, the shelves screw in on the underside facing the front and back portions of the bookcase at such an angle that it is nearly impossible to screw them in straight while not cranking your wrist in an incredibly awkward and uncomfortable position while the butt end of the screwdriver scrapes up against the underside of the shelf. 

The assembly instructions have inconsistent photos showing screw orientation and now we have one exposed very sharp screw on the underside of the middle shelf that is a permanent cutting hazard. 

The entire bookshelf almost fell forward on top of me while I was placing objects on it because the entire thing is very forward heavy (and this was even after I had anchored the bottom two shelves). To remedy this, we had to put a board down underneath the front half of the shelf to prop up the bookcase and keep it from falling forward. Without the board, you'd think the bookcase was on severely uneven ground, but we know it's not our floor, as we have a desk, 3 other bookshelves and a lamp that share the same wall. 

I could not be more disappointed with this purchase. It's been such a headache, and we plan to throw this bookcase in the dump as soon as we can get a replacement. The unfortunate thing is that we need it right now, otherwise we'd be returning it. The size isn't very easy to come by in the style/color we want, so for now this is what we're forced to settle with. I wish there were some way we could get our money back.

Would NOT recommend, even if it was free!!
