Pet Safety

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Only reason for 4 stars is that this is pretty expensive.  However, I only get this kind because I have multiple pets and this doesn't hurt their paws like the normal salt or other de-icers do - plus with them licking their paws, which they will do, especially if it's burning or hurting them in any way, the regular kind can be really bad for them to ingest.

It hasn't seemed to do any damage to my concrete, it spreads easily, it doesn't take a lot of it to work, and it seems to work on the ice you throw it on, and it keeps on de-icing over time, keeping new ice from forming for a while.  I've used this stuff for three winters now and am happy with how well it works, esp since it's safe for my pets.  Since the stuff is round it can roll underfoot, so just be aware of that and you'll be fine. It's round as opposed to the regular stuff which is jagged and sharp, which is great for traction, not great for animals' paws.

easy on the everything

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having a German Shepherd, requires frequent walks outside to go to the bathroom. It's been very hard since we moved from Florida to the north dealing with snow storms and having a pet inside a small home. This is a large amount of over 20 pounds, which will last you all winter, and works great for the northern ice I would highly recommend this product and melts snow while keeping your doggie safe.

I love that it doesn't damage concrete and is safe for pets. It comes in a good size (22 lbs.) and can cover a good area. The formula seems to be concentrated and very effective.

Great ice melter!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this bag of animal safe ice melt last week. I always use animal safe because I have two cats that go in and out even in winter. I worry about getting chemicals on their feet. This looks like it will be a good product to try.

Great Idea

The problem with eco friendly products, though, is you often have to give up the effectiveness in favor of being planet conscious. I was so happy to find Safe Paws and try it because it actually works! My four-legged friends don't have burns on their feet like they do with other salt products. It's a win-win!

Great for environment, but it still works!

It didnt melt much! I expected it to melt the ice fairly quickly but it took days.
