Installation takes only minutes with clear directions.

Can be easy to open, but may require two hands or be tricky.

Convenient but may require extra support.

My husband installed the gate several days ago so for now, I can give it 5 stars.  It serves its purpose.  Nice that you can have it swing open both ways or just one way.   Installation wasn't too difficult.

Gate works as intended. Got it in 2019 for dogs ( 2 German shepherds) . Sturdy, well holding weight of the dogs  , installed in 40 inch wide doorway opening. Haven't had a problem yet. My only regret that didn't got 2 , since there is no more bronze color just white. But if I need another one, I'll get any color because I know that it's worth it.

Was fairly easy to install. Love that it does not have that bottom trip bar because we needed to install ours off of the ground about 4 to 6 inches so our cats could go under but the dog and of course the baby, cant get under it.  This one was perfect!!! very sturdy and easy to install!!

Perfect

Very easy to install. I did the install by myself. Unfortunately my walls are not exactly straight, this gate does not allow for you to adjust the length of each side based on the wall. That would be my only complaint, as my bottom right side of the gate does not close tightly. Thankfully, the top closes tightly and we have no issues keeping my daughter off the stairs

Would recommend

Gate was easy to install and all the screws are secure except two of them that most likely need anchors. Unfortunately you don't know the anchors are needed until after it's installed which is annoying because you have to uninstall everything to put the anchors into the holes in the wall and at that point you'd need an anchor for each hole that was not needed before.

Not Sturdy

I already had one of these before buying this one.  I LOVED that one.  I feel like this one was a return because it doesn't latch correctly and the cardboard that is attached for easy install was no long zip tied to the gate so install wasn't as easy as the first go around. With all that being said... The first one I purchased I LOVED.  It was easy to install and worked like a dream.  So hopefully if you buy it you don't get a defective one. (I also DIDN'T return it because we had it installed and it was a pain because of the lack of easy install cardboard.

Disappointed this go around

I've bought this gate 3 times (this is the first time buying from Walmart) due to it breaking after my kids or husband over extended it. This is the first one that I had an issue with though. I think the rubber pads that keep it extended aren't close enough to the metal to keep it in place and it's constantly getting loose. I don't feel it's as safe as it should be and it does not feel sturdy. Very disappointed but I've already installed it. I'll keep it until I have to replace it again and I'll buy a different kind next time.

hard to open and close due t gate changing sizes on its own... rubber pieces do not lock it in place. children can pull on it to change size and open it.

After searching for a specific type of gate to fit above our stairs in an awkward spot we came across this gate. Great! This gate got sent all across Ontario, all the way to Edmonton, then back through a dozen stops in Ontario which made it 7-8 days late. The updates were few and far between, being updated well after the fact, and I did not get a notifcation that it was delated until 5 days past expected to arrive. Anyway, we finally get the gate and after removing it from the box we noticed that it was broken (and an important piece at that). While it being broken may be no fault of Walmart, we are now awaiting a replacement gate from Safety 1st (thus waiting another 5-+10 days on top of the 11 day wait prior). Unfortunately not pleased with this purchase or experience.
