I have only used the hot plate a couple of times. So far it has met my expectations.
I live in a mother-in-law suite, and it is adequate for my needs.

I like this cooktop

Way better than the element version that barely lasted 6 months with minimal use and no special cookware needed for the alternate induction cook top version.

Infrared cookware

handy stainless steel cover, easy to clean, however it does get hot on the cover after turn on for frew mins, make sure to unplug right away after use for safety.

Took 20 minutes for 1 and 1/2 litres of water to come to a slight simmer and didn't boil at all.   I put in uncooked mararoni and took another 20 minutes before it was soft enough to strain.

DOES NOT BOIL WATER

The functioning of the burner is fairly average; heats up as fast as other single burners I've had in the past. However, the burner is glass and doesn't grip a pot. I was frying onions and my pan slid right off the burner because of it's lack of grip. Luckily it flew into the sink right next to it but it could've resulted in an emergency room visit too. Beware.
