Excellent Design

Inspite of the recomendation not to use it outdoors , we have a covered deck and as you will see from the photos we cover our appliances with Tupperware covers.  In the Okanagan our summer days frequently top the mid and upper 30's so we want to cook outdoors.  The Salton heats quickly, easy on/off dial and simple 5 # heat control.  Works like a charm!

this product has 1800 w of power consumption , equally divided in between burners.
however if one of the burners would have (for example ) 1200 w and other 600w that would bring more customers to this very attractive unit

In the last week, I boiled big pots of water for pasta (water boils in 9-10 min), sauteed seafood sauce in a large skillet, and so on. Burners warm up quick and I can fit two large cookware at the same time. Cleans the best with a little Vim and a soft sponge. Good for the price!

Burners warm quickly

The image online had me thinking the elements were different than what they actually are.  Since I am using this to stand in for my glass stove top as I await its replacement, I really was trying to avoid having the same type of surface.
The On/Off knob at the back is already losing its lettering (rubbing off from use) and I've only had it a couple of weeks. 
The individual temperature control knobs move smoothly and are easy to read but the burners themselves seem to be on a power cycle so that they turn off and on instead of maintaining a constant heat.

Not quite what I wanted

After 1 month of usage, i can confidetly say that this electric burner is good for a small place but the issue with it is that it takes too long to heat 2 cups of room temperature water (it takes 15 mins on max level)

Overall good but takes so much time to heat

I purchased this as we are doing a kitchen reno and needed something to boil pasta and do the occasional frying. When I attempted to fry an egg the pan never got hot enough and it took 15 minutes to cook a scrambled egg. I wouldn't even attempt a fried egg. As well tried to boil water for pasta and it never got hot enough to get a rapid boil to cook it. Ended up putting the pot on our bbq to boil it instead. Would not recommend.

Doesn't produce enough heat to cook properly

Do not buy. Waste of money in my opinion. Cant even cook meat or boil an egg. It goes on and off all the time so i have to stand in front of it and turn it back on and off. Pretty disappointing.

Wish i could get my money back

I bought this product for my mom.  She was happy with it,  no complaints.  A week later it just stopped working.   It wouldn't turn on anymore.
