Ive owned a few mid-ranged 7 inch tablets that dont even come close to how great the Samsung Galaxy Tab A is. I got this tablet to replace a failing iPad mini, it runs very smooth, it light and fits well in my hands. I play a lot of games and watch videos on my tablet and have never had a problem. I would highly recommend this tablet to everyone!

Easy to use

I got this tablet on a promotion about 10 days ago in November and have only put it down to charge it... Great screen, fast processor, bluetooth, front and rear cameras, and wifi is everything I was looking for in a 7 inch tablet. I'll enjoy this mobile tablet for years to come I'm sure...

Nice Features on a Great Product

Great little tablet highly recommend this tablet ,i had a nexus7/13 which was stolen and this little tablet is just great like my nexus was,just hope they update to marshmallow 6 this year . Thanks samsung for a great tablet.

galaxytablet 7/16

8 gigs memory is a joke. I don't use a ton of apps but I'm down to 500 mb free. System memory uses over 3 gigs. I have added sd card, but hardly anything can be moved to it (photos can, but few apps). Half the time I have to unmount and remount the sd card because even though it sees it, it spontaneously decides it can't see anything *on* it.  

I am constantly clearing cache to free up more space. There are apps included that I never use and tried deleting, but then I got bombarded with errors (e.g., don't get rid of Google Play Store!!!). There are miscellaneous small files that I don't dare delete, but are using more space than I have free. 

The tablet occasionally freezes. It is slow but that's probably due to having no memory space for swapping.

Camera has no flash and picture quality is mediocre. Zoom only goes to 2x, which is definitely not enough. 

Charging was fast at first but no longer. Battery life started out ok, but no longer. When plugged into electrical outlet adapter, the outlet adapter gets Very Hot (which I believe affected the battery, reducing its ability to hold a charge longer). Even though I only ever grip the micro usb charging cable by the usb end to remove it - i.e., I don't yank it out by the cable - I am on my 5th cable. I have owned this 1.5 years, so averaging every 3 months. Unacceptable. 

This technology would have been impressive 10 years ago, but it's totally inadequate by today's standards.

So, what do I like about this tablet? I like the size. I like the brightness. I read a lot of books on it and it works great for that.

Too Little of Everything

I bought this as a replacement for my first Samsung and I was terribly disappointed.  Although it has the capability of a huge expandable memory, you cant put anything on the SD card except pictures or music.  No apps can be downloaded or movies or anything else.  What a joke.  I would not recommend this tablet to anyone.  Especially because it seems deceiving to think you have a huge expandable memory.

Second one and down grade

Why make a tablet with a useless 8GB storage in 2016 when half is used by bloatware garbage and there is no ability to save most apps to the SD card. Even the apps that may be saved to the SD card still use up device storage in some way. Bought this for my daughter and she can't use it for anything because the storage is always full and she hardly has anything on it. Absolute garbage, should of bought an iPad.

Absolutely useless

This tablet would be great if you could use the SD card memory for storing apps. The tablet using Android 5.1 will not let you install games or apps to the SD card and at 8 gig the internal memory is quickly full. I'm now using it as an expensive MP3 player since music and pictures are the only things I can send directly to the SD card.

That's how much storage you have available once setup is complete. 
Out of the box at least 10 tiimes slower than my old cell phone that is 3 years old and retired. What else.. touch precision is awful, Operating system bogs down constantly under its own weight apparently, doesn't register all key presses if you type regular speed or faster, and will all but freeze if you press the back button while watching a video on youtube on a 79.67mb/s Internet connection... My gripes don't end here, but it's frustrating enough typing on this tablet as is.. Moving on.

I've have many high end Samsung devices over the years,  with fantastic experiences all around. Being my first purchase of a cheap version of one of their product lines, I must say I'm thoroughly disappointed.  What happened to the Samsung quality I've come to know and trust? I get that it's a cheap tablet and you good folks are busy developing new tech, but this thing runs like a poorly refurbished trade-in in a new box. 

This product is to a tablet what  "Lipstick-on-a-pig" is to a prom date.
Color me disappointed.

"Meh" at best

I bought this tablet to replace my old one. The Tab A has been extremely slow since I got it and before even downloaded any additional apps. Applications are constantly not responding even when there are no other apps open in the back ground. The micro sd card slot does not mount my card. It doesn't even stay in the slot properly and just says “checking for errors” on the tablet when I put it in. Over all not happy with it at all and just proves why I do not like Samsung products. Nothing but bad performance issues with all Samsung products I've purchased.
