The endurance rating is awesome, latency and thermals exceed expectations.  Throughout both during burst and sustained reads and wrights is amazing!

The thermals are okay on the drive, as the drive does run hot, but it holds fine in my SFF PC. HANDS DOWN BEST AROUND

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Samsung 990 Pro 2TB variant in 2024 and the speeds were super fast paired with my Asus ROG Strix G16 gaming unit. Read and write speeds were always consistent and the Samsung Magic app is a nice touch to check the drive's temps and keep it up-to-date with the latest firmware, very efficient piece of software. I have had no issues and failures with the drive over the past 2 years of purchasing it and it has moved between 2 devices so I would figure it is very reliable. 
My next investment is to get the 9100 Pro 8TB variant to store my huge catalogue of video content.

The best of the best M.2 Drive

I originally purchased this drive for my main drive on my personal build. Windows and Video editing software mainly. This drive was reliable and exceptionally fast. Very responsive, zero lag. I used this drive 4 years,  60 hours a week without a hitch. I swapped this drive over to a Laptop that's running a 5080. I thought that Adobe Premiere would make my laptop run hot but this drive stayed cool.  I definitely recommend this workhorse for a affordable and reliable drive.

Best bang for your buck

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed the Samsung 990 PRO 1TB in my PS5, and it has been an excellent upgrade. Installation was straightforward, and the drive was recognized and formatted without any issues.

The biggest improvement is the consistency. Games load quickly, transfers are fast, and performance remains smooth even when moving or installing large games. The low latency makes launching games and loading new areas feel noticeably more responsive, while the strong throughput handles large files without slowing down.

Thermals have also been solid. Even during longer gaming sessions and large downloads, I haven't experienced overheating, performance drops, or instability. Samsung's reputation for endurance was an important factor in my decision, especially since modern PS5 games involve frequent large installations and updates.

It may not completely eliminate every loading screen, but loading times are noticeably shorter in many games, and everything feels more responsive overall. The 990 PRO delivers the speed, reliability, and consistent performance I wanted from a PS5 storage upgrade. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to expand their console storage with a dependable, high-performance SSD.

While the thermals are great and staying cool in a rather hot rig during these hot months in texas, I have had to go through so many hoops to get the nvme to run at actual speeds instead of running at snail pace due to bad settings promoted by Samsung in Samsung magician
