I got the j1 6 recently and it works very well. It charges quickly and has amazing battery life. It looks good with a great Super AMOLED screen, and comes with Android Marshmallow. It is absolutely worth the price and comes with so many cool features. It also has very good performance and my live wallpapers work without any issues. Thanks Samsung!

An amazing budget phone!

I have phones in Canada, England and Jamaica ( don't talk to me about just swapping SIM cards )  and need to use WhatsApp so my two *********had to go ( WhatsApp no longer supports ******** ). After buying two **** in Jamaica I realized what rubbish they were and bought a new J1.............liked it so much that I bought another J1 when I returned to Canada. Simple, adequate performance both as a phone and as a camera and great value for money. I will be buying another J1 to be used in England.

I bought two I liked the first one so much !

My phone got destroyed after a drink spilled so I went to buy a new phone yesterday.  I just bought this and so far Im liking it alot.  I have more options on this than i did my old phone for the same price.   Still aot to learn and get used to but.  Overall i give it 5 stars across the board.  Great job Samsung!

This product got my vote

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 a while ago and I started to use the phone and there is no problems. It is a great size that will fit your hands perfectly. The camera is amazing (I am a photographer). The screen is great and the performance is great as well. This is a good little cheap phone, do not let the price fool you! This is the phone you want

I am completely satisfied. Easy to use, good grip, video and photos satisfied me. Navigating the menus is not too difficult. The only irritating thing is the buttons on each side at the same height and the ON/OFF button that you have to press for a few seconds to start and turn it off, by the same fact you press the buttons of the volume opposite. An irritant. To finish the 4.5 inch screen is slightly small. Since the purchase (about 12 months) it has not flinched, autonomy is acceptable, fast to recharge, yes satisfied on this choice.

General assessment

OK product but beware. It does not have enough internal memory for a reasonable number of apps.  Although Android supports extending memory, Samsung does not. Internal memory cannot be extended into the sdcard.

Samsung phone does not have enough memory

I had the Samsung S3 mini before, and I was very satisfied. I had to change it because I had broken it (and he ate some shots of it..). I opted for this phone. Very very disappointed. The amount of memory available is dismal: I can’t download all the apps I want. Plus, it's super slow. As for the price, I find that I paid too much for what I am able to do with (unlike the Samsung S3 mini). And now the Android system has just updated, and I can’t use my phone anymore. My mother and sister were also very disappointed with this product. I strongly recommend it.

Assured disappointment

If you want a phone just to make calls and surf the net then this is for you.
If your looking for a cell phone to use and beable to use apps then dont waste your money or time on this cellphone.
There is NO room for apps and you will run out of space quickly.
Do not try to play pokeman on this phone, you will be very disappointed when you cant do updates because there is no space.
This was a waste of money for me.

No space

its fine except you can only download like 4 apps before storage runs out. It advertises 8 GB but the available memory is only 3.5GB. Ive found carrier apps, updates, etc that I have about 1.75 GB available to me. Samsung has confirmed this is normal. 

Not a bad phone if you were able to download apps. Spend the extra money and get the next model up.
