My first requirement was to have an external hard drive that would be able to back-up ALL the files on my computer.  This Samsung 1 Terabyte product fit the bill. It was a tad more expensive than some of the other brands but it served my purpose best. This is because the cobalt blue color and the somewhat smaller size  is quickly recognizable among other drives In my storage bin (for when not in use) I know with a quick visual that  this blue Samsung is my go-to hard drive vs. all the other ones I store.

First Walmarts price was $30-$50 less than others for the same product. 
Most important is I have both a MacBook and a windows 11 laptop. Right out of the box I was able to hook it up to both machines and transfer files seamlessly. 
One interesting observation is I have another portable ss hard drive and when I hooked it and the Samsung to the windows machine, it went bonkers. The new Samsung comes configured  in the compatible file format for both, while the older drive was formatted only for windows. There might be a secret handshake there but I didn’t explore it long enough to figure it out. .

Great cross compatible drive for a great price!

Haven't had this T7/1TB drive all that long....but, so far, it has done everything as advertised.   Speed is surprisingly quick.   Do like the compact size, solid feel and actually the color too.   Comes with two sets of necessary cables so that's a plus.   It also comes with Samsung's recovery software (bloatware) that I chose not install/use.   I do wish the manufacturer would have included a case for safe keeping...however, I did find one from a non Wal-Mart source.    In the end, the Wal-Mart price made this a good buy for for a quality product compared to competitor's prices.   With this portable SSD, I was able to free up some much needed space on the SSD in my laptop and still have easy access to anything I copied off.

Samsung T7/1TB SSD is amazing.

While the ssd worked perfectly with my samsung phone, super fast speed, connection with my mac was another story.  So before you add anything to the ssd, plug it into your mac and format to exfat, it will not work otherwise. Besides that, i recommend.

Small in size, big on function.

This was recommended to me.   Very nice storage capacity.  It's small and sits on my desk next to the computer.  So much nicer than the older external backups. That was like having a 5x8inch box sitting on my desk.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is by far the easiest recommendation i have ever had to make because of how awesome the drive is. 
The obvious cool thing about this drive is the size. Its small and thin and can even fit in my wallet if I wanted to because it has the length and width profile of a credit card. Granted, it is a little wider than its predecessor the T5 but the difference does not affect its portability. Note that it is also thinner than the T5.Even along with the included cables  it fits into any pocket without being conspicuous. This makes it very easy to travel with and use on the go.
The include cables are a huge plus for me because it helps the drive deliver on performance. True almost everything is USB C now and most people have cables  they can use with it, but I found that using the included cables gives a slight boost in performance.
                                                                                                                                                                                             
The performance of this drive is amazing. Its read and write times were almost twice as fast as the T5 which was already plenty fast.
                                                                                                                                                                                              
The software utility included is intuitive and easy to use. It allows for either a password or a pin which also adds to its ease of use and portability. Whether I am connected to my phone, tablet or computer it is comforting to know that my files are secure and cannot be altered without my permission. 
                                                                                                                                                                                          
The price is also very reasonable considering the protection you get. i got the 2TB which might be overkill for most  but it comes in 500GB and 1TB also.  It has been worth the investment for me because I know that even if I misplace it, my intellectual property and personal items will still be protected since it will only open as a read-only drive without the password.

To sum up, its sleek, fast and secure and also a must have for anyone with any digital information to protect.

This product came within a day even faster than Amazon. The price was even a little under Amazon's discounted price. New package nice design small and light to carry around. It is easy to connect and just freed up my harddrive.  Would definitely recommend.

Fast delivery - stores large data, small, light

Works as intended, doesn't have issues with overheating like some other external drives do. Speed is as advertised and it's lasted me months so far with no issues and on top of that it's cheaper than a lot of the competition. I highly recommend this even over more expensive options since the cooling is just so well done here. The thing is durable as its seen a few falls and worked just fine.

Stays Cool, Incredibly Durable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought the Samsung T7 Portable SSD 1T approximately 1 year ago, and it is one of the BEST Samsung products I have ever purchased. 
Pros: It's extremely lightweight and small (especially for how much memory it holds), SUPER easy to connect to & disconnect from  phones, tablets, and laptops. 
Cons: If it's your first time using an external drive, definitely recommend using it first on a laptop, so that you can make sure it's formatted correct. I tried using it with my Samsung S24 Ultra and struggled to tell if it was properly formatted or if I was messing things up. It would help if there was a legitimate Samsung certified How-To video regarding setting up, first time use on a laptop, a phone, and a tablet since each device has different ways your supposed to "disconnect" the SSD.
Everything in-between: I know that the speed at which items are downloaded or uploaded has a lot to do with the devices as well as the cable that one is using to transfer the data. It took a LONG time to back up my pictures (I dont remember exactly how long) but I know I fell asleep while it was transferring just to wake up a few hours later with an "are you still there" type of message.... Not sure if this was from my phone or the SSD, but I was aggravated so I stopped backing stuff up for that day. I did use the cable that came in the package, but after researching it, apparently it's not the type of cable one needs to get the advertised data transfer speed. Lastly, I've definitely dropped mine at least 3 to 5 times, from various heights but no further that approximately 4 - 4.5 feet. There are some scratches from it moving around in my backpack (along with my pens and other like items) and Knicks from being dropped, however it still looks relatively new and still shiny!

I have no complaint of product. It is fine, but I still have issues and concerns with Walmart’s website and app.   Both are still subpar.   
For one thing, you can’t even print, or find out how to print, a decent receipt that has the date ordered, item description, etc., in a concise format on one page

Website and app flaws

Samsung won't give me access to the required software needed to view contents of this drive, and their website will not load it just keeps loading and reloading and reloading.
