Reception

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you want a basic AM/FM radio with a good sound that doesnt break the bank, this is it! I have not tried the Bluetooth feature yet to comment on that. I was surprised at how heavy the radio is. i would recommend placing it on a sturdy table top or counter.

Great Sound

walmart.com

This is our second Sangean WR-16, and although this one has been "modernized" a bit, with the addition of AUX and Bluetooth inputs, the sound is about the same--very pleasing. It's excellent for listening at low volume, as you would while reading a book or tinkering in a workshop. At higher levels, it becomes a little "boomy" for my taste. (The problem is easily minimized by covering the bass reflex hole on the rear panel.) Put differently, this means the WR-16 doesn't do well with Rock music as it does with intimate Jazz or chamber music.

If your taste carries you in the direction of Taylor Swift and Ice Spice, then plug in a cable from the Record Out socket on the back of the WR-16 to your HiFi outfit. This will deliver clean, unequalized sound to the external amplifier, and you can equalize there. We do this when we want to fill a room with music from the WR-16, although the 6.5 Watt internal amplifier can hold its own in many cases.

The WR-16 has internal antennas for AM and FM reception, but if you live "out of town" as we do, you may need to get creative. Add a short length of wire to a screw terminal to perk up AM signals. Connect your cable system or outdoor TV antenna to the Type-F connector on the rear panel to improve FM reception.

This is a nicely made, small table radio, which almost adds another piece of furniture to a room. The cabinet is comptently crafted wood (see it being made in a video on the Sangean website), and it shows why Sangean has become a very popular brand for people interested in this kind of radio.

Intimate sound from a tastefully done receiver.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] simple design, easy to use, not an overly complex radio. does exactly what I need it to do.

Very good radio. I found the sound very good for the size . Some people complaint that there is too much bass, but it is about taste. The finish is good and beautiful. FM reception is excellent. For AM I have to turn the radio 90 degrees and gets a bunch of stations I didn't know that exists. I am not inclined to Bluetooth, but I was amazed about the sound with just one speaker! I recommend this radio to anyone.

Very nice radio

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I already have this radio. I most enjoy tuning into regular radio with just the touch of a button. It's all about the variety.
I purchased this as a gift for a younger person who prefers what he already has. I almost kept it for myself as it also has blue tooth.

Solid table top radio with good sound.
