100+ words Discover a dark, personal story of a man bound to a world that corrupts everything it touches. Set on the shape-shifting planet Carcosa, SAROS is a standalone cinematic action experience from Housemarque. The story follows Arjun Devraj, a haunted Soltari enforcer driven by loss, regret and an unrelenting need for answers. Drawn into Carcosa’s violent beauty and cosmic horrors, Arjun searches for the truth behind the Eclipse: a sinister force that distorts the world, and everyone within it. As he fights his way across Carcosa’s mysterious biomes, Arjun’s journey pulls him deeper into a fallen civilisation, towards unsettling truths about his own past. Along the way, he will encounter unlikely allies, fractured bonds and revelations far more devastating than he imagined. STUNNING GRAPHICS AND GAMEPLAY • Explore the haunting and ever-changing world of Carcosa as it reshapes after every death. • Travel through dreamlike biomes filled with alien ruins, shifting pathways and cosmic phenomena. • Uncover hidden areas, ancient structures and lost technologies that reveal Carcosa’s forgotten history. • Side journeys allow Arjun to discover deeper mysteries and encounter new characters across the world. MASTER BULLET BALLET COMBAT • Engage in fast, fluid, projectile-focused combat with Housemarque’s signature bullet ballet style. • Unlock and evolve powerful weapons, abilities and corruption-driven enhancements. • Build a personalised arsenal through permanent progression and adaptive playstyles. • Learn enemy attack patterns, parry, shield and dodge through intense encounters and boss battles. AN UNCONVENTIONAL STORY AND JOURNEY • Experience a layered, psychological narrative shaped by memory, loss and cosmic horror. • Return to the Passage between runs to meet the Echelon IV crew and track your progression. • Watch allies unravel as the Eclipse fuels paranoia, hallucinations and fractured trust. • Go beyond survival to uncover the true cost of your power and what it means to break free of the past. PS5 Specific Benefits Haptic feedback: feel the corrupting pulse of the Eclipse as the DualSense® wireless controller recreates every impact, weapon discharge and environmental shift throughout Carcosa. The planet’s unsettling textures and Arjun’s evolving abilities are brought directly to your fingertips. Adaptive triggers: sense the escalation of Arjun’s weaponry as corruption enhances and alters their capabilities. Each trigger pull reflects the tension, recoil and instability of alien tech reshaped by the Eclipse’s influence. Tempest 3D AudioTech: immerse yourself in Carcosa’s eerie, otherworldly soundscapes as 3D spatial audio reveals unseen threats, incoming projectiles and the shifting voices of the Eclipse all around you.¹ Ultra high-speed SSD: experience the power of the PlayStation®5 console with near-instant load times that drop you straight back into the action after every death, essential in a world that reshapes itself constantly. Stunning visuals: explore Carcosa’s haunting, neon-infused environments, from cosmic ruins to distorted alien landscapes — all rendered with dramatic lighting, fluid VFX and the visual fidelity of PS5 technology. ¹3D Audio via built-in TV speakers or analogue/USB stereo headphones.
