Directions are understandable with many assembly pieces.

Can be clear and easy to follow, but may also be confusing or lacking in critical steps.

I remodeled my bedroom was looking for a inexpensive elegant white dresser and thus was the perfect choice. Took my husband about 2 hours to assemble. I added a gray cloth fabric to coordinate with the room colors and help protect the white wood.

Understand that this is NOT real, wooden furniture!  It's delicate is some parts, and strong in other areas of pressed partial board furniture.  So if it gets wet, it will soak in and balloon up in that area. 

And with all cheap quality things, you have to be willing to except flaws, dings, scratches, dents, etc.  Eaxh piece we purchased had one or the other on the drawn front, finished edge, or the top mantel piece.  Little - but nothing we couldn't live with.  I knew going into this purchase that this would happen and accepted it - KNOWING that this is for kids and they're bound to sing it up one way or another. Plus they're only going to have this furniture for a number of years until they're teenagers, which we will get then full/queen size beds then. 

We purchased the Sauder Shoals Drawer Chest, Dresser, Nightstand and 2 Twin Beds. I LOVE how they look and function for the girls shared room!  The extra storage under the beds was key!  I received quote from Sears, Ashley Furniture, Wolfs Furniture and Bonton Furniture for JUST 2 twin beds that had NO storage underneath (as none of the high end furniture stores had beds with attached drawers on drawer tracks - they were all removable pull out shelves on wheels) and they're quotes were all around $2,100.00 Plus!   We got all 5 pieces for under $1,000!   Huge savings for kids that will only use it for under 5-8 years max. 

OH AND DO READ THE DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO ADJUST THE DRAW HEIGHT AND SPACING!!!   They made these drawer tracker amazingly well on how to adjust the height of them so you can square them up to one another.  Plus with the dresser drawer and chest - each side and slot ONLY accepts a specific drawer.  For the chest, the right side has specific dimensions and the drawer front sticks past the left side more than the right.  These drawers are not universal.  So be careful when putting them in. All of our drawers lined up perfectly AFTER tweaking the drawer tracks adjustable slots.  It seems that everyone else failed at this and failed to finished reading the directions.  So if you do well and read everything, it will all workout!

OH and lastly - with the Dresser and Chest - the top drawers are NOT single smaller drawers!  I thought the Chest had 3 small little drawers on top - NOPE!  It's one big drawer like the rest. The facade front just looks like it's 3 independent drawers.  Same with the dresser.  It's 6 totally drawers.  The top two are not 4 independent drawers.  The drawer front just looks like it, but it's just another big drawer like the ones beneath them.

Good for kids, but be willing to accept flaws

Once you get through the building process this piece is great. But yes, It comes in a million different pieces. Some of them aren't labeled which makes figuring out which one the instructions is talking about a little difficult. Also all the hardware comes in ONE bag without labeling either. So with 6 different types of screws it made it hard to know which one they wanted you to use. It took me almost 5 hours to put together. But half of that was trying to locate unlabeled pieces and hardware.

Love the dresser, assembly could've been easier

I am really happy with this dresser. we got this for our little girls nursery. it took a while to put together and my hubby did it with a power screw driver, without this tool i think it would take a really long time. it is a little shorter than i thought but i think it will work because i plan to use as a changing table top as well. the handles are not a solid silver color they also have a black tarnish which i think is to make it look more rustic but i wish it was a solid silver. i think it looks really cute it arrived fast with no dents or any problems. it does have a new furniture smell that everyone complains of but i think that is normal with any new furniture that is painted white. you have to let it air out and our baby is due in a few months so it will be fine. the top drawers i thought were 4 smaller drawers which i wanted but they are not they are the same size as the other drawers just have a different look on the front. i do think it is a little over priced for what it is but i am overall happy with this dresser.

perfect for our nursery

Love this dresser. It's sturdy and looks great!  Great dresser for the price. This woman senior citizen put it together by herself over 2 days-- about 7 hrs total with a few tools. I recommend putting the sides and top on in the room you plan to leave it in, as it's very heavy. Directions are pretty clear. A few took some thought. Drawer alignment cam screws were helpful.  No missing pieces, no damaged parts. I can't wait to get the matching chest.

Great looking dresser at a good price!

My dresser came with a small mark on one drawer but other than that it is perfect. Very heavy duty. Definitely takes 2 people to assemble

Very solid and pretty

I would have rated the dresser a 5 had it not been so time consuming. I bought this dresser for my baby's nursery. My husband and I put it together over the course of 2 days. It came with a LOT a LOT of pieces. Every single piece from the door knobs to the legs to each side of the drawer, we had to put together. It is doable but quite time consuming and if you don't do it perfect the first time you have to take it apart and do it again.

Day 1 of putting it together we realized (using a leveler, something we recommend so that your dresser is straight and so the drawers fit perfectly), that the dresser leaned to the right. The only thing we had left to do was put in the drawers, but because of this we ended up having to take out all of the hammers on the backside of the dresser, and then was able to shift the dresser so that it was straight. We recommend at the point where you are putting on the back panel, that one person makes sure the dresser is level and in place, and another person hammering in some nails into the back panel so that you are 100% sure that it is even and leveled. Then you bother can lay the dresser back facing up and finish hammering in the back piece. That's what Day 2 consisted of and also putting in the drawers.

If the back panel isn't perfect, your dresser won't be perfect, and the drawers won't fit perfectly. Also we had to meddle around with the dresser drawers a bit so that they all lined up properly. (the silver piece in the middle can be rotated using a screwdriver, up or down. This way your drawer can also be shifted up or down).

For us, this was the first piece of furniture we ever assembled to this extent (and weren't expecting it to be needing this much assembly). Hundreds of pieces. I would say depending on your own situation this may be something you want to do or not want to do.

The overall product did meet our expectations and we are very pleased with the way it turned out. The drawers glide very smoothly, sturdy and solid piece of furniture, paint doesn't easily chip, deep and spacious drawers, lovely finish on the door knobs, very versatile and reasonably priced dresser. So we are very happy with our purchase.

Great dresser, lot of work to put together

The dresser arrived at my front door two days after ordering even though it said it would take a week. :)

This dresser took my husband about 3 hours to put together. It is very sturdy and heavy. I changed the hardware on the dresser to an aged-bronze hardware to match the hardware in the rest of our house. The new handles had holes spaced just a bit farther apart than the original pre-made holes. We just drilled new holes outside of pre-made holes. The new hardware covers original holes. (See attached photos.)

This will make a great changing table/dresser for our baby's nursery.

Great product for the price.

My dresser was delivered a day earlier than expected, which came in a cardboard box with additional thick cardboard borders for extra protection, all encased in plastic. The box weighed about 140 lbs., so I had to open it on the porch and carry all the pieces inside to the room where I put it together.
I'm familiar with putting together furniture like this, but someone not familiar might have a hard time with the instructions and lack of labeling. Only the large pieces are labeled, the smaller pieces are just described in a diagram in the instructions. The steps to put it together are a little chaotic, (ex. they ask you to put certain nails/screws into pieces and then you put them aside for the next 5 steps# but it's a large dresser, so I understand why there was a lot of information. It was also tricky because everything in the instructions book is translated into 3 languages all grouped together.
The tools they suggest you use are a hammer and screw driver, but I was able to use a screwdriver drill #just went light on the trigger#. Depending on how much room you have to work with, I would set this up in the room you want it in, because it's a little awkward and moving it once it's finished was almost impossible for me #140lb dresser#.
The quality of the materials are good, it's not a real wood, and some of it is just thin composite wood, most of it laminated plywood. The handles are metal and not flat silver, but also not scratched up "vintage" silver, a middle grey slate color - think mercury.
It took me 4 and 1/2 hours to put it together by myself, but breaking up the work of the frame and the drawers between 2 people would cut that time in half. The majority of the frame is held together by screw locks, which are fairly easy to put in and tighten - they hold really well, in my opinion. After putting the back on #just a thick cardboard back board#, it felt pretty sturdy without the drawers. Once the drawers were in, it looked great.
I found 2 marks/dents on the top piece, which is disappointing, but I think that has to do with shipping and could have been avoided if more padding was used between the box and the top piece #pictures show dents).

Affordable, sturdy, hard to put together

Got the dresser in, box was busted up, so  automatically knew they would be some scratches/ dents in it. It took us 3 hours to do, when they labeled the draws for which side to be on, they labeled it wrong. Instructions wasn't as helpful. Not sure if not knobs suppose to look rusted or not. 

Overall dressed is sturdy

Nice but a lot of work

Hard to put together. The dresser never fit right. This is what it looks like only after a year. The middle sags.  Drawers do not fit at all, one drawer the front face is coming off. The drawers were crooked when I first put it together.  Pieces were cracked or broke.

Terrible quality
