This is a beautiful desk. I wanted a desk with drawers - most desks have compartments for the computer, etc. This desk has two file drawers on the bottom and two large drawers on top, along with a center drawer that can be used for the keyboard. I have more than enough room on top for my printer and monitor. I have put together other Sauder products so I knew what to expect. I think it may be a little intimidating to someone who has never put together a piece of furniture. I read the reviews and one negative was the drawers didn't line up. However, they give you directions on how to line up the drawers when you are done and it worked for me. I did take my time and followed the directions. It took me most of one day to complete. My only complaint was a few minor parts were not labeled but they were easy to figure out.

WONDERFUL desk for the price

The entire process from getting all the pieces inside and actually putting the desk together took a lot of time. The instructions make seem like the desk is so simple to put together but that's not the truth. Some of the pieces are not labeled and you have to look very closely at the diagram. Literally, pay attention to every line, dot, and squiggle because if you don't you will put the pieces together incorrectly. This project took me 3 days to complete as I did not have the liberty of having all day to complete. I would recommend two people work on this because it is very challenging for one person. I did it by myself and honestly, I was so proud once it was all put together.

Very challenging

Bought this desk with the matching shelf for my boyfriends office and it looks very expensive. The desk itself is beautiful and was bigger than I expected but I love the desk space. I also love that this desk can be put up against a wall or you can put it in the middle of the room because it was designed to do both. The only thing difficult about this was putting this desk together; it was not an easy process what so ever and I wish we could have the option to pay extra to have it built for us because some items at walmart.com are not easy to assemble. I didn't put it together myself, but I would recommend that if you are a single woman with no man around to help you I would either suggest you find a man to put this together, or drink while you put it together because it looked very complicated and I have put a lot of furniture together but this one was not something I could have done alone. The box that the desk arrived in was super heavy so this is an item that requires a team effort. Overall the desk looks amazing and no one would guess it was from walmart. The quality of the wood is excellent, very sturdy.

Beautiful desk, well worth the hours of assembly.

I set this up for my husband's home office. It took the better part of a day. It is a great large desk with tons of space and visually appealing for the price. The drawers were the hardest to assemble because they were not marked with the appropriate letters but relatively easy enough to assemble. The center drawer was the only problem with alignment issues of the screw holes. But overall just what we needed for a starter desk.

Standard home office desk

My husband put the desk together. It took him 6 hours (and he is very handy around the house). As he was putting it together he accidentally chipped the desk in a couple of different places. It does scratch very easy. The desk looks very pretty and I am happy with what I got. We didn't have a lot of money to spend on a desk and this desk had the best reviews. Overall I would recommend this desk.

Good desk for not a lot of money

I bought my desk about two weeks ago. I put it together by myself, which took me about 7 hours( I wouldn't recommend putting it together alone...some parts are very heavy). I am very pleased with how sturdy and appealing the desk looks. It fits perfect in my office. I am however very disappointed at the fact that one of the bottom drawers does not close properly. I know that I did everything correctly. I am very comfortable and competent when it comes to putting furniture together. I would definitely recommend having the desk delivered instead of picking it up because of its weight. I was however disappointed with the delivery company that serviced me as they told me that they would not bring the product into my home. I was informed once they left this 200 lb box on my porch that they only have "curbside delivery." I have never heard of such a thing!!!

Great Look

I really love my desk. It arrived before time expected but if I hadn't chased it down I would not have know this. It arrived with a few dings in it. I did not want to wait another two weeks for another so I kept this one. They were not awful so... anyway, overall I love my desk. It's beautiful.

Love my desk

1) I was going to ship it but to save $80 I had it shipped to the store - I didn't realize how heavy it was. Over 200 pounds is no joke - all in one box. Plus it's real big so you need a large vehicle.
2) it came packed real well but be prepared - there is a ton of pieces.
3) assembly wasn't terribly complicated but very long - it's a large item so give yourself plenty of time. A drill will save a lot of time and effort.
4) the drawers were all way off even after screwing everything exactly in place - the holes weren't in the right place so the slides were lopsided. It gives the front a terrible look.
5) I haven't had it for long but it looks solid and pretty nice (besides for the drawers).

OK but not great

This desk weighs a ton and is completely fiberboard which I have used in the past but this particular desk was cheaper than cheap, all predrilled holes literally broke apart therefore causing the desk to be loose and unsecure....I ended up screwing it together myself. This desk was a complete disappointment.
