It's small and compact but does a very good job of recording video of what's in front of you. We've tried it out several times and got amazing results. It did take a few tries to get it in just the right position to get the best front view. Just a slight movement can change the view and the placement on the dash also can hinder the video. After a few trial and error positions we get it correct But once you get it in position it is a work of art and does take a very clear video. All and all this is a great product and I do recommend it.

It comes with a upgradedable TF card and when it is full it you can take it out ofnd put it in your device to view or leave it the camera and use the USB cord to download the video or leave it in and it will start it in and start erase itself and start over. If there has been a impact the g-force will automatically store to a file to keep for viewing. make a file of the force of the impact to keep.This is going to save me money on my insurance policy also when I go back in to renew. It takes still shots also a has motion function detection. I couldn't got a good picture of it because of the sun. I am going to fine a way to the sun. I am going to mount mine different because I have a Saturn and my dash is in the middle so I want mine in front of me if I can.

This Will Be Great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everyone needs a camera like this in their car because you never know when an emergency is going to happen. I like that it is small so it doesn't get in the way on my windshield. It comes with a 16GB SD card so you can use it straight out of the box. It has cycle recording, which means it starts to record over old footage when the SD card fills up. Activate G-Sensor to automatically flag videos to save and it won't record over those. If you do get into an accident you'll have video evidence and you can take pictures of the damage with this dash cam as well. Works great in day and night time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Scosche HD DVR Dash Camera is a small, compact unit that comes complete with 16 GB microSD card installed, so it is truly ready to run out-of-the-box. The 2.2" Thin Film Transistor (TFT) screen measures about 1.8782x by 1.375 inches. The color and light saturation are good, and it records date & time as you are recording video. There are 3 video moces: 1080p, 720p and 480p VGA. You can record video and take snapsots, a nice feature if you are involved in an accident. The suction cup windshield mount stuck very well and the camera was easily removed and reinstalled (in case you wish to take the unit in the home to transfer video/photos, or just to keep the camera safely stowed in the glove compartment or center console while away from the vehicle. You may upgrade the microSD card to a 32 GB size if so desired. There is a montion detection feature (which the user can turn ON or OFF).

The video is clear in 1080p mode and is well-suited for recording events in case of an accident.

The only negative features in my opinion are: [1] its small size, which is both good and bad. Its good in that you can pretty much hide it to the right of the rearview mirror and it doesn't block much of the view out the windshield, but the small size makes it nearly impossible to read settings on the screen while it is affixed to the windshield; and [2] there is no GPS functionality that you would get in a unit that costs 10X more. Still, for the price, it is a good bargain dash cam and is suitable for recording activity in the event you are in an accident.

Does the job at a reasonable price!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Small but does the job. Was not too sure about this camera when I first got it. Once I plugged it in and turned it on i started to see the value. With a soon to be new driver I wanted something that could show me how he was doing when driving. Good way to make sure he was being careful. Easy to install and use. Only issue I ran into was trying to find the right cord to work in my car. It comes with a lighter plug and a standard android cord. However my car does not have a lighter or a standard plug- it uses a usb-c plug. Not a huge issue but I did have to buy a adapter to fit. Overall, happy with the camera and hope my new driver will make me proud.

Interesting camera for your car

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This camera was super easy to install. a simple USB connection to your computer sets it up. A simple power connection from the camera to your electric lighter provides the power source. just peel off the clear film and suction cup the camera to your windshield. The device records a 2 minute loop at a time. It stores them on a USB card. You can take the USB card out and download the contents to your computer or you can take the USB card out and delete the contents from your computer device. I like how small it is and how simple it is to use. But I don't like that it only records 2 minutes at a time and it does not serve to record what happens outside your car once you turn off the engine. This is because it cuts off the power source. If you want to know what's happening to or around your car when you are not in it, this is not the camera for you. Screen quality is good, size is good, and image quality is good.
I suppose this would be a cute product for someone who wants to record their kids activities in the backseat by simply turning the camera around. however keep in mind that if you want to record your kids singing a song, most songs last longer than the 2 minute loop that this camera recordes.

The camera stops recording once your car is turned

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Scosche HD DVR Front Facing Lens Suction Cup Dash Camera
under the Walmart Spark Program because I am a literate person who writes interesting and compelling reviews of products that Walmart.com and Walmart stores carry. I am good at reading and following directions. 

The good news: The mounting device is simple to master. The suction cup works well even in the blazing heat of a south Alabama summer. The power cord is long and reaches the power jack with length to spare. The mount is adjustable for fixing the angle of the camera shot that you want to record. This camera comes with a TFT memory card. They are not expensive, but this is a nice feature and truly makes this a plug and play device. The instruction manual is in English and Spanish. It took me less than 10 minutes to install and program the camera with the correct time, date, resolution, etc... 

The bad news: The documentation does not match the camera! There are two choices of resolution on the camera: FHD and HD. The instruction manual lists three. I could not find on the camera menu to set up continuous recording where the camera writes over previous files. So the memory card got full within a few days and stopped the camera from working properly. I reformatted the memory card. Meanwhile, I spent many minutes scrolling through the video camera menu to establish the continuous filming. I found the option to set the length of the video file, but nothing about overwriting the old files. 

What is a man to do? I went to the product website as listed on the instructions: scosche.com. I could not find my product listed by its model number or style. I entered into the search function the model “DDVRS016G”. A different item came up: DDVRS0916G-SP. This is the model number on the packaging of the camera that I received. This item is also a camera and looks just like mine! And the features listed on the webpage correspond to the features of the camera listed in the documentation that I received. This item caught my eye on the description of the camera on the webpage, “Seamlessly record over older footage on your micro-SD card with the newest footage.” That is what I want. The packaging says the same thing. 

But wait, there is an online chat support function that was working today. I reached out and was quickly answered by a “Gabriel”. I love online chat support because the language accents are not a barrier. I have a thick south Alabama drawl that puts some people off and they even question if I am speaking the Queen's English at all! 

I gave my online friend my model number and he says he can't find the instructions for that particular model. He asked me to send a photo of the instructions that I had. I did not know how to master that task. I told him the other model from the Scosche website that was suggested to me. So we jumped into that. Then it turned into he says go to the menu and make the selection. I said that menu option is not there. So we were at an impasse. That is when I gave up on chat and decided to write this review. 

The camera works, just not as advertised and not as described in the owner's manual. The online support was not satisfying. This is the bottom level dash-cam. So you are getting what you pay for. I would say this camera is worth about $15.

Low level Dash-Cam with confusing instructions

Was really looking forward to getting my first DashCam.  I saw this one store was closing and reading the box had very minimal information describing the functionality headlines most product's have to catch your eye or intrigue you.  Once home I take a look at read the instruction manual, sounds off.  when punctuation and grammer are off or plainly incorrect on products than you're being had.   Upon further review and actually reading many of them on different sites, I'm not even going to mess with it .  Going back to the store tomorrow to Return.   Most all of the 5 star ratings are Obviously the company writing those.

Red Flags

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this dash cam by Scosche for free as a Walmart Spark reviewer. I was excited to get a dash cam and wanted to like it. The pros are : the camera works, the plug in cords are fine they fit and work and the camera itself looks and feels sturdy. The negative is the directions! They are terrible , really don't explain anything - a lot of it seems like hitting the same button once to do this, twice to do that etc. I googled the camera to try to get a video and could not find one for this model. I even went to Scosche's website and could not find help. Maybe I'll figure it out. My husband couldn't make sense of it either. I'll show it to a few neighbors and see if they can understand it and if so I'll come back and re-review the item. I'm annoyed that I spent this much time on it. Sorry Scosche but no score for directions.
