Product is great to add to a garden and start then off. Would recommend pre soaking and possible mixing a little with a good soft soil or something. Great product.

Product works as advertised

Normally I make my own compost but this year it wasn't ready so decided to go with a name that's been around and trusted.  When I make  my compost it barely has any odor but an earthy smell.  When I was using this I thought it smelled  rather repulsive and when I watered it even smelled worse.  I live in the city and am worried that it will be offending my neighbors.  It smells like a fermented chicken coop.  If it was properly composted it should not be smelling  this green.  This is absolutely awful!!!!   How can anyone sell something like this???

Embarrassed!!

I had been using an organic compost from the local garden shop and had some left, but was forced to buy this during COVID.  There is a huge difference already in the local garden shop plants and the ones using this product.  No comparison, I am not sure this really has any compost value.

Poor Quality Product

This compost has ruined my plants. All my seedlings have died. I am so upset. Do not use.

Plants did not grow and all died.

I bought this about 3 weeks ago, absolutely garbage. Don't use this, it had a god awful smell as soon as we opened it. It had plastic(like garbage bags) mixed in, it smelled as if it were from a human waste plant or a dump. When we watered after planting seeds, and pre started plants it smelt even more repulsive. Within days it killed our plants, and checked seeds today and they are moldy and the compost has hardened on top layer and clumped like mud below...doesnt matter if it's in ground, planters or boxes, this stuff was a waste of money. Never buying Scott's again. And I hardly believe it's safe to eat vegetables and fruit that grow in that.

Garbage

I bought this and found no soil but only wooden mulch with few particles of animal manure. Planted veggies since one month and no growth yet.

Total garbage

Scott's should stop selling this immediately. Same results here as other reviews. Have had a very productive large vegetable garden for years and always add an inch or two of compost at the start of every season. Tried using Scott's this year because local shops were out of bulk compost. It smelt awful so I removed more than half of what we put in and filled the rest with coir and soil but it has still ruined everything. Transplants not growing at all and sprouts die within days. I wouldn't recommend adding this in any amount to your garden. Literally smells like a cross between the dump and un-composted manure. Absolutely devastating for any gardener.
