Don't listen to the other reviews as they clearly did not follow the instructions on the bag. You cannot expect to throw down seed and have it grow without watering.

I have used this for seeding new patches and overseeding and found I got quicker results than this (3-4 weeks). Once the grass sprouts you can lay-off the watering a bit and even fertilize for better results.

My lawn, properly maintained, with this grass is nicer that many golf course fairways I've been on.

Follow Instructions

I bought these seeds to green a very bare lawn with several mud patches on rainy days. I just ventilated the compacted floor a little and didn’t even add any potting soil. I planted the seeds on the fly by watering abundantly every day and I added seeds every 3-4 days, for 3 weeks. I don't have mud plates anymore, everything is green now. Thank you, everything worked well despite the lack of preparation.

I don't have any more patches in my lawn!

I used this on patches where grass has stopped growing for a couple of seasons. I first used some grub killer on the area and then used the grass seed in late summer. I googled instructions online and raked the soil, spread the seed, raked again until most of the seed is covered, patted down so the soil is not loose, and then watered twice a day. For the first two weeks I was pretty diligent about watering twice a day (unless it rained) but after that I sometimes miss a day or miss one of the two water sessions in a day. Temperature lingered in the low twenties (Celsius) which was the ideal temperature. After several days small blades of grass started sprouting and after a few weeks most of the bare areas have new grass growing. It's not very thick yet so I will keep watering to help the grass grow.

The online instructions said don't put the grass seed to deep but I think I probably overdid it and didn't make it deep enough. I also probably should have used more grass seed - I didn't have a spreader and did it by hand. But I am still pretty satisfied with the result.

Bought 5kg bag of seed and used entire bag to patch lawn. 3 Weeks since I put seed down and NOTHING. Out of the huge bag I don't see any growth. All I'm doing is feed birds.

Waste money and waste of time prepping the ground. Now 3 weeks behind on my lawn while all the other lawns are starting to fill in. Coated seed worked the best but can't find anywhere.
