What started off as a backup storage device for my ever growing data files has instead become my new working media as a (very) less expensive electronic storage medium. I've transferred (by drag and drop method) about 15.7 TB of data files on my in office laptop computer that was using SSD's that at one time ran me about $100/TB. I worried each day when I turned of my office system if one of my SSD's would bite the dust and cost me irretrievable loss of some data.
I was able to back up everything within a few days and in a more organized manner. I finished with the SSD's copied and later stored away, and this 20TB HDD now being used as the current active stowage medium. The only real draw back is the speed factor which I can live with. Things are now retrieved within a moment or two instead of within a half second!
This was a very good buy and I plan to buy a larger size when they go on sale - that will be for the computer used for entertainment purposes!

The drive runs quietly but has rumbling noises when it starts up and periodically when idling. 
Otherwise, I can safely it is a work horse in the best sense.

I have 4 of these 20TB drives storing my movies, photos and personal data. I do not believe in putting my personal data out in the cloud due to the fact so much happens these days. This is the perfect Drive to store it all. I use two for my data and 2 for backups of that data. My computers don't last very long. But these do.

The device stopped working and then asked me to format it. When I formatted it, it said I only had 41 GB of disk space. I lost valuable information with this defective device.

I've had this for less than a week. From the jump it would routinely connect and disconnect to my Win11 desktop.   In trying to resolve that I've used different USB ports, with and without a hub, swapping cables... eventually it just died.

Steer clear.  Dead within a week.
