I received this as a birthday gift and it's a wonderful gift. I studied abroad in France when I was in college so this was the reason for the coloring book. It has lots of black and white pages to color in. Even the inside of the cover is an opportunity to color, since it's also black and white. The first pages inside, black and white. So I took the hint to fill it in and color it. The book mentions that colored pencils are the best medium to work with and I agree. The paper is pretty thick although as I was coloring some of my penciling smudged the cover page. Maybe I color and press too hard on the paper. I still love it and there is also a lot of mandala like patterns as well as drawings to work on as well.
