Great field watch. Finally an automatic field watch that's 42mm. I love the look of this watch, you can dress it up or down, the look drastically changed with different straps.

Movement is not hackable but it's not a big deal, very accurate, the power reserve is great at 40 hours, wish it had hand wind though.

The color in the pictures is drastically different, it's not that blue, it almost leans towards a black, or a dark blue in decent light.

No one tells you this watches DAY function is bi-lingual.  The information pertaining to this is in  instruction manual only.  So when you receive it and the Day is not in English, do not worry but do read the instruction manual.  I have returned 3 of these watches from 3 different vendors thinking the manufacture made some mistake.  It was on me.  Hope this helps.       .g

Overall good first impression. It is one of the few automatic watches in an affordable price range. 
pro: - automatic movement that is tested
         - looks good dial and dial is readable
         - good size for average wrist
         - day and date complication
          - 100 metre depth in water with stainless steel bezel
          - lum is readable
con - movement not hackable
         - movement good to +5 sec
         - prefer NATO band
overall good solid B grade. I recommend it.

first impressions of seiko sport 5 watch

the calender in this thing has arabic text as seiko isn't available in usa, so beware.
other than that it's good, it was a gift for my friend who was turning 21 so gave him something which works as a casual everyday watch.

We have tried everything short of purchasing an automatic winder to keep this watch working.  The longest we have been able to keep it going is 6 hours. Would not recommend to anyone.  Huge disappointment as this was a gift for my spouse.
