Just what I wanted:  Basic fire resistant box without the frills.  Perfect for holding my lithium power banks when I store them in my car.  Power banks are a fire hazard.  I'm hoping this box is sufficiently fire resistant and I am hoping that it is sufficiently air tight to control or extinguish any fire that may occur.  And, keys for these are available from online vendors or local locksmiths if the originals are lost.  (The keys for these are not unique.  You order them by the letter or number combinations embossed into the lock mechanism.  The keys slow down casual interlopers but this is not a pry resistant nor thief resistant box.)Thank you ☺

Basic fire resistance from a known brand.

This safe is built to last forever the weight to it you can tell its not cheap at all and built for anything to be honest and its fire resistant for a half hour if something bad happens protect your valuables and sentry is a well known name for this safe stuff it holds a decent amount of stuff to plus it comes with 2 keys and like I said you can feel the weight to it lifting it up and everything just knowing your valuables are safe at sound makes you sleep better at night plus you register your safe on there sight you can buy add on stuff for your safe like keeping your stuff from drying out and moisture plus you can bolt it to the ground for that extra safety measure knowing there is nothing they can do its phenomenal I highly recommend the safe all day great company and product all day long!!!!!

Remarkable a must have for your valuables

I had been putting off this type of purchase for too long. When I came across the ad at a great price, I acted. Actually, I was unaware of how much it would hold; so I was surprised when I could not only put in business envelopes, but also 9x12. It even has room for some mementos.

The real surprise was learning that if it is in a fire, it will seal itself and have to be pried open: and Sentry will send you a new one. Cannot get better than that.

It is rather heavy, but manageable. Probably not a good idea to put it on an upper floor if you need to carry other items in a hurry. I think it is one of the best on the market for important documents.

Exceeds Expectations

Only concern I have is the lock/key assembly is a little finicky.  I also wondered if its possible based on the interior indentations to anchor the unit in place?

Adequate for my needs for document storage.  A feature I would like to see is the ability to securely latch the chest and preserve fire resistance without needing to lock it.  That way a thief could open the chest, see there was nothing to steal and not take it away to open elsewhere.

Compact fire resistant document storage

The safe itself is pretty good. The lock not so much. Getting the key into the lock has not be easy from the say I bought the safe bit within a month the key wouldn't even go in. It took some force and blunt objects but I finally got the key in to open it. If Sentry would put a better quality of lock on this all of their other safes their products would then deserve a 5 star rating.

Terrible lock but good safe

When i got this it was SO DIRTY. I opened it out of the oackage and the outside was dirty.. well i opened the actual safe and the inside was dirty! Very disappointed in that! I wiped it down with a disinfecting wipe and its good as new. But not cool to come in dirty like that... didnt come in a box for the product either. Just the safe in a brown box with keys attatvhed and paperwork inside. But overall seems like a good safe!

Not very professional

So the box itself is made superbly…it's tough and fireproof..however it's not moisture-proof(so they say to store items in a plastic bag).. and there are minimal things that are actually suggested to store in there surprisingly…but quite a few things they suggest to NOT store …at first glance it looks huge not to mention it is extremely heavy… but upon further inspection it's big enough to store very little…even if you were just storing paperwork it wouldn't hold that many papers in fact a normal sheet of paper is too wide to fit so would have to be folded up….one of my keys are hard to get into the hole but the other one works fine so not the biggest issue..there isn't really any way to fasten it to anything so someone could just grab it and go….probably would have returned it but it was a gift….

Fireproof..but is it worth it…

I ordered this safe for my important papers and related items, but when it arrived, it was damaged. I also didn't like the design of it as it seemed a bit insecure. I would have returned it anyway. So I ordered a First Alert with the front secure lock, push button open, with a double secure lock, and it is excellent. The First Alert is on Walmart website too. I would go with that one if I were you.

Exchanged it

Having read the manual, I don't know anymore if I should use it to store my passport and hard drive. It says there that will be moisture inside that could be damaging. That defeats the purpose. I bought the safe to protect my important items. So yes, it will protect them from fire but ruin them with moisture? So weird. Also, a white chalky substance keeps falling out of the lid. That will ruin my things too. Finally, when it's locked, there's a little give when I pull on the lid. Why??? :(

I'm afraid to use it.
