I just received the CHW30300 and it was easy set up the combination and at this time all is going well. Love the fact it is a digital safe. Hope it will perform better than my last Fire/Water Chest.

Exactly what I was looking for. Compact enough to fit on the floor in my closet yet roomie enough for all my essentials that I wanted to store (after I realized I was opening it upside down....oops).  Overall a fantastic safe for the size, functions, ease of use, and price. Would absolutely recommend.

Fantastic, heavy lil shiz

Needed a small safe for just odds and ends that you want to keep out of others eyes and hands........perfect size, not too heavy to carry, easy set up and directions, very pleased with my purchase.     I will be looking at a larger one as well for the rest of the valuables that I want to lock up.   I love this small one a lot!!

Need this for documents, and it will hold and protect a lot. 
BUT not in a binder. Had to use binder clip to keep a 3/4" stack together.
Opening it is tricky. You have to hold down the top and pull up the latch, each with the right force to accomplish it.
I just want fire security. Its security is weak because the latching arm is exposed enough to be cut with a saber saw.

Nearly all that I need

I appreciate that the safe kept all our stuff safe in a fire, but it fell apart after. The after fire replacement guarantee is extremely difficult to navigate. I would rate much higher if it wasn't so hard to get the replacement.

I bought 2 of these safes.  One for myself and one for my elderly parents.  After 'some' difficulty with the one I set up for myself, it is now working for me.  Although, the one I programmed for my parents is another matter.  It is definitely not user friendly for seniors. The requirement to press down on the unit while depressing the lever, is very difficult for them.  I managed to do it, but it seems to have a mind of it's own when it wants to open.  I will return my parents' unit. It has caused them much stress that they are not able to operate it. If it would just pop open once the combination is entered, and no levers to squeeze, it would be so much better.

Poor Design

I found the safe unusable.  The battery terminals on the safe were the same size as the ones on the battery itself.  As a consequence I couldn't even begin the process of putting the safe in operational condition.  Also, I didn't realize the extent of the limitations in terms of usage, i.e. only paper in plastic bags, open safe once a month (lots of messing around).  I returned the unit and will search for something else.

The safe appeared to set up easily as far as a personal code and registering it was easy. But it failed to open easily and in fact I have returned it due to failure to be opened.

I followed the instructions and changed the code as suggested. Then I could open it using the new code fine. However I realized that the "safe" does not lock itself at all. As per the manufacturer claim, the safe locks itself when the lid is firmly closed. I did that and it did lock the button that opens the safe. However, if you push the lid down and then press the unlock button, then the case opens without entering any code.
