I have been using a Roomba 980 quite happily for a year or so. Then I "discovered" the Shark IQ robot. My interest was in the self emptying feature. The cheapest Roomba with this feature is twice the price of the Shark.  I have been using the Shark for a few weeks now. I Love it. The Roomba is now kept purely as a spare. The Shark is MUCH quieter than the Roomba. Once it has figured out the house layout - I clean 3 rooms and the hall with it - it travels in straight lines rather than "zig zagging". It DOES self empty and if necessary goes straight out again to finish the job. Fabulous and an amazing price compared with the completion.

I'm on my second shark IQ in a month I return the last one because it wouldn't return to base to recharge so they asked me to return it and they send me a new one which they did. So I have the same problem with this one I love the machine except for that problem I wish you would get it fixed. That is you and I would rate it a 5 and recommend it to everyone

My 2nd IQ same problem

We bought IQ robot about a month ago and the first few times it would start cleaning and then stop and go back to the base. After going through the set up i figured out that i had to turn on the recharge and continue button. That solved the problem for a couple days and now it will recharge and the continue cleaning only to die in the hallway or someplace else and I would have take it back to the base and put on the charger. I noticed that it only cleans certain areas and not the entire house. We have to clean part of the kitchen by hand because the IQ Robot will not go there. I really expected more from this robot. The robot we had before did a great job cleaning the house but the mother board kept going bad and we decided to try this robot vacuum because it seemed to good.  That was mistake.

Expected better results

Our main reason for buying the robot was to automate the task of vacuuming. It's not automated if I have to search the house for the robot every time it gets stuck somewhere. I received more Shark notifications on my mobile than I do phone calls. We've had this machine for a week now, use it and babysit daily and it never finds the dock when the battery runs low. After a week of daily use it still has not mapped the house and we have to place it on the dock after EVERY use. I keep getting notifications that the front wheel is stuck and the sensor needs cleaned, neither i is true.  This was a cheaper alternative from the Roomba but still expensive.  Now I'm thinking I should have bought something that actually works as advertised.  If a firmware update or something doesn't resolve my issues then I'll demand a replacement. I'm not a happy customer SHARK.

Gets stuck way too often, never finds the dock!

I expected much more from viewing the TV commercial.  The robot does not move in a straight line, even if there are no obstructions, so it misses areas completely, it cannot ever find the docking station, it does NOT pick up dog hair very well from rugs, it commands to clean the cliff sensors constantly even if I just cleaned them, it is extremely loud, if the battery is fully charged it will only run about an hour and stops before returning to the docking station. Lastly, I purchased the model with the self empty base, it does not empty very well.  Each day I have to clear out debris and a hand clean the filter.  I am returning this product.

Great idea, just doesn't do it.

I bought this shark a month ago. Had great expectations. I have pets and it was advertised as a pet product. It constantly says “clean my brushes” it cannot find its base 75% of the time and my area rugs do not look like they have been vacuumed at all.

Fun but not perfect

I watched the robot pass over dirt  and dog hair several times. It does not clean well at all. Also,  the anti hair wrap is a myth. The first time it cleaned i had to cut hair off the roller. The only thing I liked about it was the self emptying feature.  Otherwise it did not live up to expectations and I returned it.

No suction

I was so excited to have ordered this. I was telling all my family about all the promised features. Come to find out I HATE it. My hair gets wrapped around the “ won't get wrapped around this bar” bar. It can't make a map that makes sense. It never gets past half way through my living room before it's sending me an error and it almost never makes it back to the dock. I cannot believe I spent this much money on a lazy Susan for my floor. Not at all what it says it can do.

We were excited to receive the Vacuum since we had bought many products in the past and been very happy with all of them.  When I opened the box and was reading the instructions and saw the required clearance of three feet each side and five feet to the front my wife said we can't give up that much space and I agree.  Thirty square feet is a lot of space for a vacuum so I boxed it back up and looked up return process then shipped it back the next day.  Very unhappy!
