Love this microwave only option I wish it had is a light up key pad ours is in the island unit it’s tough to see the key pad because it’s not eye level overall great unit

I purchased my 1st Sharp Drawer Microwave in 2019.  It was used heavily for 6 years.  It survive a lightening strike that took out all of my TVs, dishwasher, garage openers, and most all of my electronics.  It was only 2 months ago that I had the first issue, likely from the lightening strike, where I  lost the power setting function.  I immediately purchased a replacement without giving and thought about another brand.  We are totally satisfied with our Sharp.

Bought this as a replacement for my 12 year old Sharp microwave drawer.  Simplistic install ever!  4 screws hold it in place. Took 15 minutes to swap out the old with this exact replacement for my old one.

Love this Sharp

Excellent drawer microwave that stands above the other manufacturers' in both fit and finish. It installs into the counter and is best utilized at about waist level - just under the countertop. Not for everyone but it makes removing hot dishes safer and a lot easier than over the range models. This unit is wheelchair accessible due to the use of a motorized drawer instead of a swing door like the majority of units. 

We owned a Sharp in our previous home and decided to buy and install it again in our current one. Reminder: it does require cabinet installation so keep this in mind. Existing drawers or cabinets will need to be removed and/or modified to make room for this unit. This NOT a countertop or over the range microwave.

It works great and we especially like the drawer. The one downside is the clock  light. It is very bright and there is no way to dim it. We cover it so we can still use it when programming it. If they added a programmable dimmer it would be a big help

Great microwave

Recent remodel where I did not want the microwave over the gas stove for several reasons:
1-I’m short, it would be a stretch
2-I’m getting older, and I didn’t want my clothing to catch fire from a flame on the cook stove, while reaching for the microwave
3- it’s easier to check for melting/heat distribution 
4-so much easier to clean
5-love the sleek lines, towel bar handle, clean look

Kitchen remodel with a drawer microwave

When we remodeled our kitchen in 2014 we had a Sharp Drawer Microwave installed to allow for more counter space.  It lasted 11 years.  We replaced it with another Sharp Drawer Microwave and we love it! It's easy to use and access.  Less reaching and safer lifting of food from the microwave.

A Perfect Fit

I like everything about this machine except the buttons should be back-lit, as it's impossible to use this microwave in the dark. And since it's a drawer unit, there isn't a whole lot of natural light where the buttons are positioned. Other than that, it has a lot of nice features, especially the sensor reheat which does an excellent job with just about everything I have tried it on.

Sharp Advisor

The drawer concept is flawed. The microwave has a handle, but apparently if you use it to manually open and close the microwave it can can a switch to come out of position. This prevents the microwave from heating even though it looks like it’s working. We had to pay almost the cost of a new, conventional microwave just to get it fixed. These drawer microwaves are not worth it.

Bot worth the premium

Decent microwave however the clock timer light stays on constant. The lcd light has gaps to allow flying insects to get attracted to the light and die behind inside the lcd display without being able to get insect out. This apparently was a defect letting light stay on constantly because new models now have way to delay turn off timer clock lcd light.
